Credit Analyst II

The Credit Analyst II position is built for a credit professional who has developed strong technical fundamentals and is ready to take on greater ownership and impact.

In this role, you will independently evaluate commercial loan applications, apply sound underwriting judgment, and contribute meaningfully to portfolio performance. You will collaborate closely with Sales, Operations, and senior credit leaders while refining your ability to assess risk, structure deals, and communicate clear, well supported credit decisions.

This role is designed for someone who wants to deepen their expertise. You will apply disciplined credit analysis, strengthen your decision making authority, and continue developing advanced underwriting judgment in a fast paced lending environment that values accountability and collaboration.
What You'll Do
  • Analyze financial statements, tax returns, and business bank statements to assess creditworthiness and repayment capacity.
  • Evaluate liquidity, profitability, leverage, and cash flow trends to determine overall risk profile.
  • Assess guarantor strength and its impact on debt service ability and portfolio exposure.
  • Prepare comprehensive credit memorandums that clearly summarize financial analysis, risk factors, and underwriting rationale.
  • Make sound credit recommendations aligned with established credit policies and risk parameters.
  • Collaborate cross functionally to communicate credit decisions clearly and efficiently while supporting deal flow and client experience.
  • Identify emerging risk trends across industries and proactively raise insights to leadership.
  • Manage a high volume pipeline while maintaining strong quality, accuracy, and turnaround standards.
What You'll Bring
  • Three or more years of underwriting or credit analysis experience, preferably within small business or commercial lending.
  • A Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, Economics, Business, or a related field.
  • Strong working knowledge of financial statement analysis and the ability to interpret complex financial data with confidence.
  • Understanding of small business lending dynamics and common industry risk considerations.
  • Strong analytical thinking and quantitative skills with attention to detail.
  • Ability to make complex credit decisions in a deadline driven environment.
  • Clear written and verbal communication skills and confidence presenting underwriting rationale.

A reasonable estimate of the salary range for this role is $36.06 to $45.67 per hour. In order to provide a competitive compensation package, Mulligan Funding takes into account a variety of factors including but not limited to market compensation data, relevant experience, skills, education, and certifications.
