Radiology Representative at Westchester Medical Center – Kingston, New York

To perform routine and specialized clerical duties requiring understanding of medical and radiology terminology in the production and maintenance of the film records.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Greets outpatients upon arrival and informs proper staff of their arrival. Answers incoming calls, takes and relates messages to available personnel using proper phone technique.
• Clerical duties including proper paper processing of Diagnostic Imaging requests. Ensure that all related records throughout the Hospital are available upon request by physicians and/or patients.
• Records and logs films/cd's to be released and films/cd's coming into the department from other locations. Prepares dvd's to be released and or imports incoming dvd's from other locations.
• Proficient in equipment operation (i.e. telephones, terminals, fax machines, digital access system).
• Obtains comparison films/cd's on patients as requested. Digitizes films or imports cds for physician's review.
• Performs other clerical-reception duties as requested.
• Demonstrates the ability to process and interface appropriate information between the Radiologist, healthcare team, the patient, family, and/or significant other to ensure patient outcomes.

QUALIFICATIONS/REQUIREMENTS

EXPERIENCE

• High School or equivalent. Post High School Vocational/Specialized training.

EDUCATION

• High School or equivalent. Post High School Vocational/Specialized training.

LICENSES/CERTIFICATIONS

• Answers telephones, maintains logs accurately, maintains patient charts.

OTHER

• Operates: Fax machine, computer, photocopier.
