Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with management to enforce safety and sanitation standards and to address employee concerns, complaints, and grievances.
  • Inspect materials, products, and equipment to identify defects, issues, or malfunctions.
  • Coordinate with department supervisors and Program Managers to ensure timely completion and delivery of orders requiring departmental support.
  • Recommend and implement initiatives to improve employee engagement, production methods, equipment performance, product quality, and overall efficiency.
  • Provide or coordinate employee training on equipment operation, work practices, and safety procedures.
  • Lead and oversee personnel involved in Anodize operations, including Rackers, Masking Technicians, Operators, Process Helpers, and other departmental staff.
  • Review and analyze production data, work orders, schedules, charts, and reports to establish daily and monthly production requirements and assess performance against targets.
  • Develop work schedules, assignments, and production sequences to meet operational goals and required delivery dates.
  • Manage and requisition materials, supplies, parts, and equipment maintenance or repair services.
  • Define, track, and evaluate key performance indicators to drive continuous improvement in departmental efficiency and performance (e.g., Sales per Labor Hour, Units Masked per Labor Hour, Escape PPM, Contribution Margin).
  • Interpret specifications, blueprints, job orders, and company policies to ensure accurate execution of departmental work.
  • Recommend and support personnel actions, including hiring, promotions, and merit-based compensation adjustments.
  • Monitor employee attendance, productivity, and quality of work to ensure performance standards are met.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, the Employee Handbook, and OSHA regulations.
  • Maintain accurate operational records related to time, production, and costs, and prepare management reports highlighting performance outcomes.
  • Establish standards, budgets, production goals, and labor rates based on company policies, equipment capacity, staffing levels, and workload demands.
  • Drive continuous improvement by developing and implementing enhanced production processes and operational procedures.

Required Experience:

  • Experience in formulating production policies and developing/implementing performance improvement strategies and procedures utilizing Six Sigma techniques. Ability to develop teams and manage multiple projects and resources. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills while utilizing software solutions. Technical knowledge of metal finishing processes and techniques. Ability to develop and deliver presentations to all levels of an organization.
  • Work requires professional written and verbal communication and interpersonal skills. Ability to communicate and interact with all levels of business and to work effectively with a wide range of internal/external customers. Ability to motivate teams and simultaneously manage several projects. Producing enduring, cost-effective solutions to business problems.
  • Five years minimum of operations and hands-on metal finishing supervisory experience. Extensive knowledge of aerospace blueprint requirements and ability to calculate tank times based on part size and rack configuration. Work requires willingness to work a flexible schedule.
  • Ability to lift 50 pounds.
  • Ability to alternate standing and sitting for 8 hours.
  • Ability to see or correct to 20/20.
  • Ability to hear.
  • Ability to distinguish color (pass a colorblind test).
  • Ability to communicate in both verbal and written forms.
  • Ability to stoop and bend.
  • Ability to use arms and hands.

Salary Range:
$40K $61K annually DOE
