About This Position
Description:
Primary responsibility is to provide support to Senior Manager, Individual Giving in executing a comprehensive planned giving program. Duties will include providing support by managing the communication and stewardship of individuals interested in deferred giving, estate planning, bequest donations, life income gifts and related from donors to achieve the Foundation’s planned giving/fundraising goals; communicating with attorneys, accountants, and financial representatives about the benefits of supporting National FFA Foundation through a planned gift; and internal administration of realized planned gifts.
Requirements:- Supports the Senior Manager, Individual Giving in managing the planned giving program and responding to inquiries to achieve planned fundraising goals in support of the strategic plan.
- Answers current and prospective donor inquiries.
- Works with donor relations team to recognize planned giving donors and promote interaction with planned giving prospects.
- Conducts donor discovery through research and data mining to identify planned giving prospects.
- Works with Regional Directors, Individual Giving on follow up with planned giving prospects
- Oversees donor recognition events and data collection activities.
- Writes correspondence, reports, proposals and marketing materials; enters data in donor database and assures accurate electronic and hard copy files of planned giving donors and prospects.
- Focuses on effective engagement and marketing activities identified as having potential for growth.
- Collaborates effectively with other internal members of the fundraising team and staff.
- Team player with the ability to work independently in a frequently changing environment.
- Excellent interpersonal, listening, written and verbal communication, follow-up and project management skills and initiative.
- Excellent customer service skills to internal and external customers.
- Ability to effectively prioritize, organize, use time-management skills, and be adept at multi-tasking.
- Ability to problem-solve/analyze, demonstrate detail-orientation, demonstrate accuracy, and ability to maintain confidentiality.
- Computer literate (Word, Excel, fundraising software) and ability to make and receive telephone calls.
- Other duties as assigned.
EDUCATION:
Bachelor’s degree required.
EXPERIENCE:
- 1-2 years of experience in fund development preferably in higher education or agriculture related organizations preferred or equivalent work experience.
- Successful experience in making cold calls as well as developing donor engagement and communication strategies
- Must have excellent interpersonal skills, a demonstrated record of completing assignments, and a willingness to learn
