Operating out of a 60,000 sq. ft. facility, the company is dedicated to producing high-quality, precision-built components for a wide range of industries. Their work spans from detailed parts to complex enclosures in a fast-paced, high-demand production environment.
Position Overview
The CNC Machining Technician is responsible for producing precision parts by programming, setting up, and operating CNC mills, lathes, and manual equipment. This position requires strong technical knowledge, attention to detail, and the ability to maintain consistent productivity while ensuring quality standards are met.
Key Responsibilities:- Review work orders, blueprints, orthographic drawings, and GD&T symbols to plan machining processes
- Program and operate 3-axis CNC milling machines using G-code and conditional programming logic
- Set up machine reference points, tool offsets, registers, and compensation values
- Perform machining operations such as drilling, tapping, turning, facing, and cutting
- Conduct precision measurements and first-piece inspections to verify quality
- Diagnose machining issues and make programming adjustments as needed
- Operate manual machines and additional shop equipment, including drill presses, wet saws, belt sanders, and hydraulic presses
- Perform preventive maintenance on machines and manage tooling requirements
- Monitor inventory levels and assist with material requisitions
- Minimum of 3 years of CNC machining experience
- Strong ability to program and edit G-code
- Solid understanding of geometry and trigonometry
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings
- Familiarity with quality control procedures, including First Article Inspection and PPAP
- Basic knowledge of inventory and supply management
- Ability to stand, bend, reach, and lift up to 50 lbs
- Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
- Background in sheet metal manufacturing
- Experience with CAM software such as SolidWorks
- Knowledge of ISO 9001 quality standards
- Experience with process improvement initiatives
- Familiarity with manual milling machines and lathes
- CNC Vertical Machining Centers (e.g., Fadal VMC5020A, VMC4020B)
- Manual mills and lathes
- Precision measuring instruments including calipers, micrometers, dial indicators, and depth gauges
$20 - $30 an hour
