Electrician Instructor at South Carolina Construction Academy – Myrtle Beach, South Carolina

Key Responsibilities

- Provide engaging, standards-based instruction in electrical systems aligned with South Carolina CTE program requirements.

- Provide instruction in essential electrical concepts such as voltage, current, and resistance; basic electrical safety practices; electrical energy and power; series and parallel circuits; conductors and insulators; and introductory electromagnetism.

- Demonstrate and supervise the use of electrical tools, testers, meters, and equipment.

- Lead hands-on lab activities and ensure all safety procedures are followed.

- Maintain an organized, safe, and compliant electrical lab environment.

- Create lesson plans, assessments, and instructional materials.

- Prepare students for industry-recognized credentials (e.g., NCCER Electrical, OSHA-10).

- Foster positive relationships and support student growth academically and professionally.

- Communicate effectively with parents, colleagues, and school leadership.

- Participate in ongoing professional development and schoolwide initiatives.

- Perform any other duties as assigned by the supervisor/administrator

Qualifications

Required:

- High school diploma or equivalent.

- Minimum 5 years of professional electrical or electrical construction experience OR eligibility for South Carolina CTE Work-Based Certification.

- Strong understanding of electrical systems and job-site safety.

- Ability to pass state-required background checks.

- Effective communication and classroom management skills.

Preferred:

- South Carolina teaching certification in Electricity or a related CTE field.
