Position Overview:

The Restaurant Manager seeks to join a dynamic leadership team committed to ongoing growth and advancement. We are searching for a creative and dynamic individual who will have the chance to cultivate and lead a team. Working closely with the Director of Restaurants, the ideal candidate will serve as a collaborative partner in conceptualizing innovative ideas and crafting new experiences for our members. In addition to driving revenue, the manager must demonstrate proficiency in budget management, market analysis, and staff training.

Job Tasks/Duties

  • Maintaining communication with Chef and Culinary staff to ensure that our members needs are considered when it comes to preparing menu items for guest satisfaction.
  • Assist the Director of Restaurants in interviewing, selecting, training, supervising, counseling, and disciplining staff
  • Ensuring that all opening and closing functions are being completed each shift
  • Listen to and understand requests then respond with appropriate actions and provide accurate information
  • Observe performance and encourage improvement where necessary
  • Maintain restaurant cleanliness daily
  • Ensure all daily reports are accurate and submitted at end of shift
  • Effectively communicate all maintenance needs to proper outlets using proper procedures
  • Demonstrate positive leadership characteristics which inspire team members to meet and exceed standards
  • Performs special projects as assigned
  • Responsible for adhering to club policies and procedures
  • Responsible for adhering to Saucon Valley Country Club standards and holding regular training for the staff
  • Conduct designated staff/pre-function meetings – giving out assignments to the staff
  • Responsible for continuing education to the service staff
  • Responsible for maintenance of POS System and restaurant menus
  • Responsible for ordering all service products that are important to the food & beverage daily operations
  • Making sure all clock-in/out reports are correct
  • Responsible for monthly beverage inventories
  • Responsible for wine and beverage programs for all club outlets
  • Responsible for coordination of wine dinners and wine tastings

Requirements:

Job Knowledge, Core Competencies and Expectations:

  • High School Diploma or GED required
  • College degree in hospitality a plus
  • Two plus years in a proven leadership role
  • Four years of restaurant management experience
  • Knowledge of point of sale software, is a plus
  • Strong administrative and computer skills with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite: emphasis on Excel, Word and PowerPoint
  • Ability to perform job functions with attention to detail, speed and accuracy; ability to prioritize and organize
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Food Safety Certification
  • Alcoholic Beverage Certification
  • Must have and maintain a valid driver's license
  • Must be able to create and maintain a professional relationship with staff
  • Must be able to speak and read English
  • Must be able to have dependable transportation

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be able to stand and walk for length of shift
  • Must be able to push, pull or lift up to 50 pounds
  • Ability to work in a hot, humid and noisy environment
  • Ability to walk up and down stairs
  • Must be able to work independently and finish tasks in a timely manner
  • Must be professional in appearance and demeanor
  • Must be able to work with multiple personalities when coaching, counseling, training and management
  • Must be able to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and holidays Must be able to work an average of 50 hours a week
  • There will be weeks where a heavier workload will be required
