About This Position

Summary Description

nbkc bank is currently looking for a Partnership Team Manager to join our Fintech/Baas team.

As the Partnership Team Manager you will lead and develop the relationship management team, manage a sales pipeline, and provide payments expertise. You will handle complex customer issues, ensure compliance with regulations, and build strategic relationships to enhance the client experience.

This position will work @Flex (a combination of both in the office and at home) based out of our Kansas City, MO office.

What you’ll do

  • Lead the relationship management team in sales/pipeline, customer implementation, and ongoing relationship management efforts.
  • Develop and maintain relationship management standards for team members, ensuring engagement with fintech partner initiatives.
  • Manage, coach and develop relationship management team members to elevate skill sets to exceed performance objectives based on company goals.
  • Act as an escalation point for the relationship management team in resolving complex customer issues and concerns.
  • Execute a consistent, disciplined sales management process to actively identify and manage a robust pipeline
  • Develop and maintain an in-depth knowledge of products and services as well as knowledge of competitors and competitive products
  • Provide payments expertise to ensure fintech products and funds flow meet regulatory requirements and mitigate risk.
  • Develop strategic relationships with all key lines of business in order to effectively refer business and leverage partnerships to deepen and enrich the client experience
  • Develop, monitors, and manages sales initiatives; provides periodic status reports to management
  • Work with management on department budgeting, individual fintech contract negotiations, reporting, pricing templates and proposals, along with other aspects of managing the fintech portfolio.
  • Responsible for profiling needs of prospects and customers; then making appropriate recommendations
  • Follow all applicable laws and regulations
  • Perform other duties and projects as assigned


What you’ll bring

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred (High school diploma or GED required)
  • Prior management experience, minimum 5-7 years; leading teams of relationship managers
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of commercial and/or consumer banking experience; treasury/cash management sales and service experience preferred
  • Knowledge of Bank products and services
  • Knowledge and understanding of current regulations and compliance laws

  • Accredited ACH Professional (AAP) or Accredited Payments Risk Professional (APRP) is a plus
  • Excellent Communication skills (both verbal and written)
  • Strong sales skills

  • Strong negotiation and facilitation
  • Sound judgment and decision-making abilities
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to develop and present information in varied mediums to individuals with wide-ranging levels of knowledge/experience
  • Ability to ascertain and respond to customer needs and objectives to advance customer relationships
  • Ability to perform essential functions of the job with or without accommodation.
