Bartender at The Residence Inn by Marriott Berkeley – Berkeley, California

POSITION SUMMARY:

Responsible for prompt, courteous service to bar and restaurant guests by serving food and drinks, and maintenance of the area.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

• Take, mix and serve drink orders.
• Interact with guests and creates a welcoming atmosphere.
• Record all sales using the appropriate register and follow all cash handling procedures.
• Maintain cash bank, guest checks and process all guest payments according to established procedures.
• Complete open, close and side duties including: cleaning tables, stocking supplies, wash and stock glassware, and assist in maintaining the cleanliness of the bar area.
• Maintain a clean and organized bar area. Follow all safety and hygiene standards.
• Provide the highest quality of service to guests at all times.
• Performs all other duties as deemed necessary by management.

• Able to carry trays and move items weighing up to 30 pounds.
• Knowledge of local and state alcohol laws.
• Knowledge of all drink types.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
