THE POSITION

We are looking for an energetic and self-motivated individual to join our team! The right person will bring energy, enthusiasm, and a strong work ethic. They will assist the Manager, Airport Maintenance, in managing the maintenance, infrastructure, fleet equipment, safety programs, environmental programs, and corporate relationships at the Airport. As the right hand to the Manager, Airport Maintenance, the successful candidate will act as Manager in their absence.

OTHER KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Assist in managing airside and airport maintenance, which includes winter operations, airfield lighting and navigation, vegetation control, wildlife control, aircraft movement surfaces, pavement, and the equipment fleet.
  • Assist in managing groundside operations and maintenance which includes winter operations, pavement, public roadways, landscaping, and utilities such as water, storm water, sewage and electrical.
  • Review construction project specifications and plans and manage specific projects as assigned.
  • Work with the Management Team in the development and implementation of airport policies and strategic goals and objectives.
  • Assist in creating and implementing various training programs and/or opportunities, as required.
  • Safely, efficiently, and effectively manage assigned resources to maintain airport certification requirements and stated levels of service.
  • Participate in the planning of team reviews and advise on future infrastructure and asset requirements to maintain the desired level of service.
  • Create reports, manuals, programs, and other administrative documents.

REQUIREMENTS

  • High School Diploma/GED
  • 2+ years of similar experience in an airport / aviation environment.
  • Obtain and maintain a valid YMM Airport Vehicle Operator permit.
  • Must be able to obtain and maintain a Transportation Security Clearance Restricted Area Identification Card (RAIC).
  • Must have the availability to be on-call, as needed.
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Drivers License with air brake or higher; Must be willing to obtain a Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake, if applicable.
  • Strong team player with great interpersonal skills and the ability to be a leader.
  • Successful completion of pre-employment testing including, but not limited to, a medical assessment, and drug & alcohol testing.

ASSETS

  • Post-secondary degree/diploma in Aviation Management or Airport Management/Operations.
  • Valid Class 3 Drivers License with Air Brake Endorsement.
  • Possession a Canadian Firearms Possession and Acquisition License.
  • IAAE - Canada Accredited Airport Executive designation is considered an asset.
