Job Summary

The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor oversees the daily maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure a safe, well-maintained, and welcoming environment for guests and employees. This role supervises maintenance staff, coordinates preventative maintenance efforts, and responds to facility issues efficiently while upholding brand standards and regulatory compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Supervise, train, and schedule maintenance engineering staff
  • Oversee completion of maintenance work orders for guest rooms, public areas, and back-of-house spaces
  • Perform and manage preventative maintenance programs for HVAC, plumbing, electrical, mechanical, and life-safety systems
  • Conduct routine inspections to identify maintenance needs, safety risks, and improvement opportunities
  • Respond to emergency maintenance issues and urgent guest service requests
  • Coordinate and oversee external contractors and service vendors
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, logs, and compliance documentation
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, fire/life safety, and local regulatory requirements
  • Assist with budgeting, expense tracking, and cost-control initiatives
  • Collaborate with hotel leadership and other departments to support smooth operations
Skills and Qualifications
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; technical certification or trade education preferred
  • 3–5 years of hotel or facilities maintenance experience, including supervisory experience
  • Strong working knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
  • Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and safety documentation
  • Proven leadership, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work flexible schedules, including evenings, weekends, and on-call rotations
  • Ability to lift, climb, bend, and perform hands-on maintenance tasks
  • Valid driver’s license and ability to meet background and safety requirements, as applicable
