Position Summary: •Administer the Materials Management functions for the respective affiliate to provide essential material services in a timely & cost effective manner within the overall goals & objectives of the Materials Management Department. Provides leadership to employees & coordinates the operations on Materials, Linen & Receiving to maintain inventory control of material. Key Responsibilities: •Oversees and directs the operations and quality of services in the Materials, Receiving, and Linen departments. Provides for sufficient staff to ensure quality and provide services in a safe, efficient, and effective manner that meet departmental goals and objectives and performance standards. •Selects, develops, evaluates, and supervises the respective staff for the Materials & Linen departments. Has same direct reporting responsibility for the Supv, Materials Management in the Receiving department and is ultimately responsible for the Receiving staff as well. •Provide leadership and facilitates departmental meetings for each area of responsibility. •Monitors service levels, documents results, and communicates efficiencies and action plans for improvement with user areas as well as regular reporting to Director of Materials Distribution Services. •Participates in the preparation of the annual budgets for the responsible departments and manages the budget on an ongoing basis. •Participates in the preparation and submits the monthly budget variance reports. •A resource for the development & implementation of system-wide inventory management best practices for each affiliate. •Responsible for the orientation of new personnel and provides appropriate in-service education to meet JCAHO and NYS Health Department standards. •Develops and implements a schedule for employee completion of annual mandatory education. •Ensures the ongoing evaluation of the job responsibilities and facilitates the cross training of staff as appropriate. •Responsible for the development and revisions of department policies for the Materials, Linen, & Receiving Departments. •Develops and implements a cycle counting schedule and facilitates an annual inventory in the Materials and Linen departments. •Works with the RGHS Finance Department to reconcile the Materials and Linen inventories on a monthly basis. Also works with RGHS Finance Department and the contracted auditing firm to reconcile the annual inventories. •Responsible for the integrity of the Materials Management software system and coordinates the sequence of the inventory processes & procedures. •Represents the hospital and/or department on various teams (i.e., Linen Utilization Committee, Kaizen) •Performs other duties as assigned. Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor’s Degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration or related field is preferred, OR Progressive work experience with demonstrated results (5 years in supply chain and 3 years in a supervisory role) Job Profile Summary This document may contain privileged, confidential and/or sensitive information. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: H - Heavy Work - Exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Requires constant walking, standing or squatting.
PAY RANGE: $62,400.00 - $70,000.00
The listed base pay range is a good faith representation of current potential base pay for successful applicants. It may be modified in the future. Pay is determined by factors including experience, clinical licensure date, relevant qualifications, specialty, internal equity, location, and contracts.
