Position Summary

We are seeking a creative, strategic, and data-driven Social Media Manager to oversee our social media presence across multiple platforms. In this role, you will be responsible for developing content, engaging with our online community, and driving brand awareness, customer engagement, and growth. You will collaborate with IT, graphic design, and client services to ensure consistent brand messaging and high-quality digital experiences.

Essential Functions

Social Media Strategy & Planning

  • Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive social media strategy aligned with organizational goals, brand standards, and communication objectives.
  • Identify and analyze target audiences and determine platform-specific strategies to increase reach, engagement, and growth.
  • Plan, schedule, and manage weekly and monthly content calendars and social media campaigns.

Content Development & Brand Management

  • Create, edit, and publish original and engaging social media content, including posts, videos, stories, reels, and other multimedia formats.
  • Coordinate with internal graphic design, IT, and client services teams, as well as external vendors or creators, to produce high-quality visual and multimedia content.
  • Ensure all social media content adheres to brand guidelines, approved messaging, and established tone and style standards.
  • Develop and publish organic content to maintain consistent engagement during periods of reduced scheduled activity.

Community Engagement & Reputation Management

  • Monitor and respond to comments, messages, and brand mentions in a timely, professional, and brand-appropriate manner.
  • Foster online community engagement, address frequently asked questions, and support reputation management efforts.
  • Attend community and agency events as needed to capture and share real-time social media content.

Analytics, Reporting & Optimization

  • Track, analyze, and interpret social media performance metrics and campaign results across platforms.
  • Use analytics and insights to optimize posting schedules, content formats, and engagement strategies.
  • Prepare and present regular performance reports, including recommendations for continuous improvement.

Campaign Management & Collaboration

  • Plan, execute, and manage paid and organic social media advertising campaigns across platforms such as Meta and LinkedIn.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams on campaigns related to product launches, promotions, initiatives, and events.
  • Coordinate influencer partnerships and user-generated content initiatives to support organizational objectives.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Digital Media, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Proven experience as a Social Media Manager or in a similar role. Strong knowledge of major social media platforms and trends (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.). Strong creativity, adaptability, time-management, and organizational skills. An equivalent combination of education and progressively responsible professional experience in social media management or digital communications.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with graphic design and video tools (e.g., Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, CapCut).
  • Training or coursework in digital marketing, analytics, content strategy, or branding.
  • Social media or digital marketing certifications (e.g., Meta, LinkedIn, Google Analytics).
  • Experience managing paid social advertising.
  • Knowledge of SEO, influencer marketing, and content marketing principles.
  • Strong understanding of brand voice and digital trends.

Special Requirements

  • Must possess a valid driver’s license.
  • Subject to a background check and reference verification prior to hire.
  • Must maintain confidentiality and adhere to NRHA’s code of conduct and ethics policies.
  • Considered essential personnel during company/community emergencies.
  • Fast-paced, collaborative environment focused on creativity and innovation.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of social media platforms, tools, algorithms, and best practices (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube, etc.).
  • Knowledge of content strategy, brand management, and digital communications principles.
  • Knowledge of analytics, reporting tools, and performance measurement.
  • Knowledge of AP Style writing standards and brand voice consistency.
  • Knowledge of paid social advertising, SEO basics, and content marketing principles (preferred).
  • Strong written communication and storytelling skills with attention to grammar, punctuation, and tone.
  • Skill in content creation, editing, and coordination of multimedia assets.
  • Skill in social media management tools (e.g., Sprout Social, Hootsuite, Later).
  • Skill in analyzing data and translating insights into actionable strategies.
  • Skill in time management, prioritization, and campaign planning.
  • Interpersonal and collaboration skills to work across departments and with external partners.
  • Ability to exercise independent judgment in planning, content decisions, and strategy execution.
  • Ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities, trends, and platforms.
  • Ability to manage multiple campaigns simultaneously while maintaining quality and accuracy.
  • Ability to engage diverse audiences and manage online communities professionally.
  • Ability to represent the organization publicly and maintain brand reputation.
  • Ability to analyze social media metrics and translate insights into actionable strategies.
  • Ability to work under minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, talk, see, or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand and walk. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds.

Drug Free Workplace: NRHA maintains a drug free workplace.

VRS Contribution: All full-time employees are required to contribute 5% of annual salary toward their retirement account; in accordance with VRS retirement provisions. This will be handled through a pre-tax payroll deduction.
