Overview

As a Land Development Project Engineer, you will lead the planning, design, and delivery of residential, and mixed-use development projects, guiding them from concept through construction. You will collaborate closely with clients, municipalities, and internal teams to prepare grading, drainage, utility, and roadway designs while navigating permitting and entitlement processes. This role blends hands-on technical design with project coordination responsibilities, offering the opportunity to manage schedules, budgets, and consultants while mentoring junior staff and helping shape communities through thoughtful, sustainable site development.



Responsibilities

• Prepare and oversee site development designs including grading, drainage, stormwater management, utilities, and roadway improvements

• Coordinate with clients, municipalities, and regulatory agencies to support permitting, entitlements, and design approvals

• Manage project schedules, budgets, and consultant coordination to ensure successful project delivery

• Review technical calculations, plans, and reports to ensure quality, accuracy, and constructability

• Support and mentor junior engineers and designers while contributing to team collaboration and technical development



Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering or Construction Technology.• Professional Engineer (PE) license.• Four+ years of land development engineering experience.• Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D for design purposes.• Must have a valid TX driver's license with a good driving record.
• Experience in coordinating with CAD drafting and design teams.
• Deep understanding of the land development planning and entitlement processes.• Proficient with the modeling and design of pipe networks, street corridors, lot layouts, grading, drainage, and water quality.• While performing the duties of this job, physical demands of the employee include frequent sitting, moving, standing, talking, hearing, and occasional balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, reaching, handling, grasping, and feeling. This job may occasionally require operating a company vehicle, and lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling up to 35 lbs.
