We are currently looking for a Lightning JS Platform Engineer in the United States.This role is an exciting opportunity for a highly experienced front-end engineer to lead the development of next-generation streaming experiences across a wide range of Smart TV platforms. The Lightning JS Platform Engineer will drive high-performance, scalable, and resilient front-end solutions, ensuring smooth playback, responsive interactions, and an engaging user experience even on low-powered devices. The role involves close collaboration with product, design, and engineering teams to innovate and execute features, optimize performance, and build reusable, maintainable code. You will take ownership of complex technical challenges, shape the developer experience, and contribute to the evolution of a rapidly growing streaming platform. This position combines deep technical expertise with creativity and strategic thinking to amplify the reach and impact of digital content.Accountabilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain high-performance front-end solutions for Smart TVs and streaming devices
• Optimize application performance and reliability on a variety of device types, including low-memory and low-CPU platforms
• Build scalable, reusable, and secure code that supports high-quality playback and immersive user experiences
• Collaborate with product, design, and cross-functional engineering teams to implement features from concept to launch
• Lead code reviews, mentor engineers, and promote best practices to enhance team efficiency and code quality
• Instrument and monitor metrics to measure app performance, user experience, and system health
• Troubleshoot and resolve complex performance, memory, and lifecycle issues across applications

Requirements:

• 12+ years of experience as a software engineer, with at least 8 years focused on front-end development
• 3+ years of recent experience (within the last 5 years) building front-end applications with SolidJS
• Extensive experience with Lightning JS and development for Smart TV platforms
• Proficiency with cloud-based platforms, CI/CD processes, and automated release workflows
• Strong understanding of functional programming frameworks and component-based architecture
• Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to operate independently in fast-paced, evolving environments
• Effective collaboration and communication skills, capable of partnering with multiple teams and disciplines

Preferred Experience:

• Familiarity with Effect, fp-ts, or similar functional programming frameworks
• Experience managing monorepos using pnpm
• Knowledge of legacy browser support (e.g., Chrome 39+)
• Experience with BASH and CLI SDKs outside of npm ecosystem
• Experience building and deploying HLS.js applications
• Prior exposure to The Angel Guild environment
