Position Title: Ophthalmic Assistant - Eye Care

Wage Range: $23.25 $37.20 per hour
15% Per Diem pay.

Job offers are determined based on a candidate's years of relevant experience, level of education and internal equity.Job Summary:Provides entry level professional medical and administrative help for ophthalmologist in a clinical setting. Works under general supervision.Primary Duties

• Greets and rooms patients per organizational standards. Takes patient history.
• Performs basic and routine vision screening examinations and records visual acuity.
• Educates patients on eye care, contact lens care and in preparation for surgical procedures.
• Manages and administers eye medications as indicated per provider orders.
• Restocks and cleans exam rooms after patient care.
• Performs other duties as assigned.

License, Certification, Education or Experience:REQUIREDfor the position:

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Current JCAHPO Certified Ophthalmic Assistant (COA) certification
• 1 year of experience working in an optometry or ophthalmology practice
• General knowledge of anatomy, pharmacology, medical terminology, sterilization techniques and basic eye care.
• Ability to communicate clearly and effectively both verbally and in writing.

DESIREDfor the position:

• Previous Certified Ophthalmic Assistant experience

This position works out of multiple locations.
