Pay Rate:

• New Employees: $10/hour

• Returning Employees: $11–$13/hour (based on experience and performance)

Position Overview

The Intramural Student Associate at Spartanburg Methodist College plays a key role in delivering fun, safe, and inclusive recreational sports experiences for the campus community. This position supports the Office of Student Engagement by helping organize and manage intramural leagues, tournaments, and events.

Key Responsibilities

Facility & Patron Support

• Assist with setup, supervision, and breakdown of intramural sports events.

• Serve as a facilitator, scorekeeper and/or timekeeper, ensuring fair play and adherence to game rules.

• Provide excellent customer service, answer questions, and promote sportsmanship among students.

• Monitor playing areas for hazards, enforce safety protocols, and report incidents to supervisors.

• Work with other student workers and staff to ensure smooth operations and positive experience for all participants.

Facility Maintenance & Safety

• Maintain a clean and organized environment

• Perform routine checks of equipment and facilities and inform supervisors of maintenance needs.

• Report damages, broken equipment, or safety concerns promptly.

• Take ownership of creating a safe, welcoming, and inclusive recreation environment.

Team & Professional Expectations

• Demonstrate reliability, punctuality, and accountability for all scheduled shifts.

• Build professional relationships with coworkers, patrons, and guests.

• Exhibit a strong work ethic and represent Campus Recreation with a positive attitude.
