About This Position

Position Summary and Purpose: The Maintenance Technician role will be responsible for performing various maintenance and repair tasks to ensure the efficient operation of our machinery, facilities, and equipment. This role will be critical in minimizing downtime, maximizing productivity, and maintaining a safe working environment.

Essential Functions:

  • Conduct routine inspections, repairs, adjustments, cleaning, and preventative maintenance of machinery and equipment, office equipment, facilities, and buildings and grounds.
  • Complete work order requests and close them in ERP system
  • Collaborate with production personnel to identify and solve problems as well as improve equipment.
  • Monitor inventory levels of spare parts and supplies, and coordinate with the Plant Manager to replenish as needed.
  • Assist in the installation and setup of new equipment.
  • Follow GMP, PPE, personnel safety, and food safety procedures.
  • Perform forklift operation as needed.
  • Follow and comply with all safety procedures.
  • Handle all equipment materials carefully and according to instructions.
  • Submit all purchase requests to the Plant manager for approval.
  • Document and record information required per work order request.
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Required Skills and Abilities:

  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to maintain confidential information.
  • Interact professionally with coworkers, vendors, and customers.
  • Understand varied materials and equipment and their purpose in production
  • Basic math skills
  • Working knowledge of applicable Standard Operating Procedures
  • Basic computer skills and familiarity with Microsoft Office tools

Physical Demands:

The physical responsibilities described here must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently required to sit, stand, bend, as well as talk and hear. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision. Must be able to regularly use hands to handle or feel objects, tools, or controls, reach with hands and arms, and climb stairs. The position requires the ability to occasionally lift, push, or pull office supplies up to 50 pounds.

Working conditions:

The position works in a manufacturing warehouse setting. This role routinely uses standard maintenance equipment such as hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic equipment, as well as some specialized equipment specific to our production machinery. The noise level in the work environment may vary from quiet to loud.

Position Type / Expected Hours of Work

This is a full-time position. Standard days and hours of work are Monday through Thursday or Tuesday through Friday, 6:00 am to 4:30 pm.

Education and Experience:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required.
