Position Summary
The Pharmacy Delivery Driver is responsible for the safe, accurate, and timely delivery of prescription medications and pharmacy items to patients and partner facilities. This role ensures confidentiality, professionalism, and compliance with all pharmacy, safety, and transportation requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver prescription medications and pharmacy items to patients, residences, and/or healthcare facilities in a timely manner
• Verify delivery information and obtain required signatures or confirmations
• Follow assigned delivery routes and schedules efficiently
• Handle undeliverable packages and returns according to pharmacy procedures

• Safely transport medications, including temperature-sensitive items, following pharmacy protocols
• Maintain chain-of-custody and security of medications during transport
• Report delivery discrepancies, missing items, or damaged packages immediately

• Maintain strict patient confidentiality and comply with HIPAA requirements
• Follow all pharmacy policies, state regulations, and company procedures
• Adhere to all traffic laws and safe driving practices at all times

• Provide courteous, professional service to patients and caregivers
• Answer basic delivery-related questions and direct clinical questions to pharmacy staff
• Represent the pharmacy positively in all patient interactions
• Maintain accurate delivery logs, mileage records, and documentation as required
• Conduct basic vehicle safety checks (fuel, tires, lights) before routes
• Keep delivery vehicle clean and organized
• Report vehicle maintenance issues promptly

Qualifications
Required

• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record
• Reliable transportation (if using personal vehicle)
• Ability to pass background check and motor vehicle record (MVR) review
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow HIPAA requirements
• Strong reliability, punctuality, and attention to detail

Preferred

• Prior delivery or courier experience
• Familiarity with local routes and navigation apps
• Experience handling cash, copays, or delivery confirmations (if applicable)
