| Physical Requirements | This position requires intermittently sitting at a computer workstation and performing tasks with repetitive motions (such as typing); occasionally standing or walking with objects weighing up to 25 pounds; and lifting, pushing, and/or pulling objects weighing up to 50 pounds. Also involves risk of injuries from use of equipment on the job; working in confined spaces; and exposure to blood-borne or airborne pathogens, hazardous chemicals and fumes including waste, and cuts/punctures. |
| Shift | Day shift, 7:00 am – 5:30 pm with some holiday requirements. Hours and days of the week are subject to change based on the needs and growth of the department. Holidays not currently required may be subject to change. Requires some call. |
| Job Summary | This position will support UK Specialty Pharmacy and Infusion Services operations, with a focus on sterile compounded and non-sterile compounded medications. Daily job responsibilities include processing physician’s orders to ensure accuracy and appropriateness, performing compounded product verification, complete inventory decrements for infusion products and documenting as required by regulations. The pharmacist in this role will participate in the specialty pharmacy distribution process. This position will also help establish safe practices for infusion therapy handling, as well as collaborating and communicating with multidisciplinary team members involved in providing services to patients. |
| Skills / Knowledge / Abilities | Strong clinical skills; knowledge of inpatient drug distribution and dispensing; ability to prioritize; excellent communication skills; a “team” mentality; desire to teach; and motivation are required to excel in this position. |

| Preferred Education/Experience | PharmD and completion of an ASHP-accredited PGY1 residency program (or equivalent experience) preferred. |
