• Design, develop, and implement machine learning models and NLP-driven solutions to improve intake processes and outcomes
• Collaborate with stakeholders and technical teams to gather requirements, ensure transparency, and validate statistical soundness
• Analyze current workflows, identify inefficiencies, and propose data-driven improvements to optimize resource allocation
• Identify, evaluate, and integrate internal and external data sources into the solution architecture
• Build and refine a proof-of-concept prototype application using technologies such as Python, Java, C++, SQL, and modern frameworks
• Conduct testing, validation, and performance measurement of models and applications in both pilot and simulated environments
• Present findings, demonstrate the prototype, and gather feedback through stakeholder workshops and live demonstrations
• Ensure data security and compliance, especially when leveraging LLMs or sensitive data sources
• Participate actively in Agile development processes to ensure timely and high-quality delivery

Requirements:

• Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, or a related field
• 5+ years of experience in data science, software development, or related roles
• Proven expertise in building AI/ML solutions from the ground up, including NLP and LLM integration
• Strong foundation in mathematics, including calculus, linear algebra, and statistics; advanced topics are a plus
• Experience designing custom machine learning models and statistical methods without heavy reliance on pre-built libraries
• Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, C++, Java, and familiarity with frameworks like React, Node.js, and Next.js
• Solid experience with databases such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, or SQL Server, and cloud platforms like AWS
• Demonstrated experience deploying analytic models in pilot or production environments
• Strong understanding of model validation, evaluation metrics, and performance optimization
• Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Experience working in public sector or regulated environments is highly preferred
