SENIOR PATHOLOGY ASST at Sinai Chicago – Chicago, Illinois

GENERAL SUMMARY/BASIC PURPOSE OF JOB: Perform prosecution of anatomical pathology tissue specimens and dictate gross description of tissues examined. Assist pathologists in surgical and autopsy pathology procedures.

MINIMUM EDUCATION:

· Graduation from a Pathology Assistant Program approved by the American Association of

Pathologist Assistants; or

· Bachelor of Science Degree from an accredited institution in a biological or allied health field.; or

· Three years of on-the-job (documented) training under the direction of a pathologist; or

· Training in pathology, e.g. unlicensed medical foreign graduate, PhD in pathology or pathology

diener; and

· Demonstrated skills in medical vocabulary as related to pathology and anatomy.
