This role is a senior leadership position responsible for defining and executing the strategy, operational models, and performance standards for specialized and partner-operated clinical research sites across the United States. The Director/Senior Director will balance high-level strategic planning with hands-on operational oversight, ensuring site excellence while scaling processes and frameworks. The position requires strong collaboration with cross-functional teams, driving consistent execution across a portfolio of sites. This is an opportunity to shape scalable, high-performing clinical site operations that directly impact healthcare delivery and research outcomes.
- Lead the strategy, design, and execution of operating models for specialized and partner-operated clinical research sites.
- Build and embed operational excellence frameworks, KPIs, dashboards, and review cadences to monitor performance across quality, enrollment, timelines, cost, and patient experience.
- Personally drive critical initiatives until stable, scalable, and ready for delegation, acting as a senior escalation point for operational, regulatory, and partner-related issues.
- Manage end-to-end site startup, onboarding, and integration for new site models, ensuring alignment with protocol, sponsor, and regulatory requirements.
- Oversee quality, compliance, and risk management, including audit readiness and corrective/preventive action plans.
- Own financial and business performance for specialized and partner site portfolios, partnering with Finance to build budgets, forecasts, and optimize margins.
- Build and lead a high-performing leadership team, establishing role clarity, decision rights, and coaching for proactive, scalable execution.
Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree required; advanced degree (MBA, MPH, MS, or similar) strongly preferred.
- 12–15+ years of progressive leadership experience in clinical research operations, site management, or healthcare services.
- Demonstrated success in building and scaling non-traditional, partner-led, or complex site operating models.
- Deep understanding of site-level execution, including startup, enrollment, regulatory processes, sponsor engagement, and remediation.
- Strong knowledge of FDA regulations, GCP, and clinical trial operations.
- P&L ownership experience across multi-site portfolios.
- Proven ability to operate as both a strategist and hands-on operator in high-growth or ambiguous environments.
- Exceptional executive communication, stakeholder influence, and change management skills.
- Preferred: Experience with decentralized or innovative clinical trial delivery models and operating in matrixed, global organizations.
Benefits:
- Competitive base salary ($130,000 - $190,000 USD annually) plus discretionary annual bonus.
- Paid Time Off (PTO) and company-paid holidays.
- 100% employer-paid medical, dental, and vision insurance plan options.
- Health Savings Account (HSA) and Flexible Spending Account (FSA) with bi-weekly employer contributions.
- Company-paid Short-Term Disability and Long-Term Disability.
- 401(k) retirement plan with company match.
- Remote work within the United States with up to 70% travel, providing flexibility and autonomy.
- Opportunities for career growth and leadership development in a mission-driven environment.
