About This Position
Coordinates the Assistive Technology Loan locker and durable medical equipment (DME) refurbishing and reutilization programs. Will serve as the primary contact between Appalachian Center for Assistive Technology (ACAT) and UK St. Claire. Will collaborate with healthcare providers to ensure patients/clients are provided with the appropriate assistive technology and/or DME. Maintains accurate documentation of all assistive technology and DME evaluations and loans. Will work closely with the ACAT-Hazard personnel.
Essential Functions:
Oversee the assistive technology loan locker at this site
Oversee the durable medical equipment (DME) refurbishing and reutilization program for this site.
Serve as the primary contact with UK St. Claire healthcare system
Attends regional health fairs to promote center activities as needed.
Enters AT and DME loan information into the AT4ALL database.
Designs, educates, and facilitates clinical process improvement initiatives.
Maintain routine communication with the ACAT personnel in Hazard
Maintain device quality database and manages staff and program operations
Performs other duties as assigned.
Educational Requirement:
Bachelor’s degree in health or related field.
Degree from an accredited program in physical therapy, occupational therapy, or speech and language pathology.
Experience Requirement:
2-3 years’ experience as a rehabilitation therapist.
Certification and Licensure:
Licensed rehabilitation therapist (e.g. physical therapist, occupational therapist, speech and language pathologist)
