About This Position

Description:

At Northfield Park Racino, the Accounts Receivable Clerk is responsible for processing, posting, and reconciling all property-related accounts receivable transactions in accordance with company policies, internal controls, and gaming regulations. This position ensures accurate billing, timely collections, and proper posting of customer payments for casino, racetrack, food & beverage, entertainment, and other revenue centers. The Accounts Receivable Clerk supports the Finance department by maintaining organized financial records, assisting with month-end close, and providing responsive service to both internal and external customers.

ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS/DUTIES:

List duties in order of time spent or importance. Essential duties and tasks that must be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

  • Processes daily billing for casino, racetrack, group sales, food & beverage, entertainment, and other property departments.
  • Reviews and verifies the accuracy of charges, adjustments, and credits prior to posting.
  • Posts all payments received (cash, credit card, wire transfer, or check) into the accounting system and reconciles to bank deposits.
  • Prepares and maintains detailed aging reports; follows up on past-due accounts and coordinates collection efforts with departments as needed.
  • Researches and resolves payment discrepancies, chargebacks, and customer inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Assists with balancing daily revenue reports and ensures that receipts are properly recorded in accordance with accounting standards and gaming regulations.
  • Maintains accurate customer account records and updates contact information and credit terms as approved.
  • Prepares and distributes invoices, statements, and collection notices in accordance with company policy.
  • Collaborates with the Cage, Racetrack, Food & Beverage, and Event departments to ensure accurate posting of revenue and payments.
  • Reconciles credit card and direct bill accounts and prepares supporting documentation for month-end close.
  • Assists with month-end journal entries, schedules, and reconciliations as assigned.
  • Supports audit requests and provides documentation to internal and external auditors as needed.
  • Maintains confidentiality of all financial and guest information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

JOB SPECIFICATIONS:

Education, experience, skills required, equipment used.

  • Must be 21 years or older.
  • One year of applicable experience, high school or GED preferred, or combination of experience and education.
  • Working knowledge of accounts receivable principles and financial reconciliation.
  • Experience with accounting or property-management systems (e.g., Workday, Sage Intacct, Opera PMS, or similar).
  • Strong data entry accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive financial information.
  • Excellent organizational, analytical, and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and other standard office applications.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with multiple departments in a fast-paced environment.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills with a customer-service orientation.
