Food Service Associate at Meriwether Godsey, Inc. – Roanoke, Virginia

Meriwether Godsey is looking for a Full-time Food Service Associate at Hollins University, located in Roanoke, VA. Must be available to work mornings & afternoons.

• Must be available to work as follows: Sunday & Monday: 12p-7:30p & Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday:6:30a-2p.
• Pay rate: $16 Per Hour

What you will do:

• Greet customers with a positive and friendly attitude
• Operate registers, scanners, scales, and credit card/debit card terminals while handling exchanges in a quick, efficient manner
• Transport food & supplies to cafeteria area: assist in the set-up, maintenance, & breakdown of the cafeteria, food serving, and beverage areas.
• Serves and replenishes food from food counters and steam tables.
• Assists in the preparation of hot and/or cold foods, and properly stores food, utilizing knowledge of temperature requirements and spoilage.
• Keep cafeteria areas and assigned kitchen areas neat and organized
• Clean and sanitize work areas, dining tables, chairs, and equipment throughout and after meal periods
• Maintain cleanliness and sanitation of other kitchen areas by following daily and weekly cleaning assignments
• Inspects workstations for compliance with service standards.
• Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training, and hazard assessments.

What you will need:

• 2-3 years related food service and/or cafeteria experience preferred
• High School Diploma or Equivalent
• Excellent communication and good organizational skills
• Flexibility; ability to switch between job duties
• ServSafe Food Handler Certification preferred.
• Reliable Transportation
