Position Overview
The City of Sharonville has a vacancy in the classification of Recreation Supervisor. This is a full-time position.
The Recreation Supervisor is responsible for overseeing the daily operations of the recreation facility, ensuring consistent customer service standards, and implementing strategies to grow and retain memberships. This position works collaboratively with the Assistant Recreation Director and serves as a Manager on Duty for the Community Center as assigned.
Wages and Benefits
Wages and benefits are very competitive. The pay rate for newly hired employees will be based on skills, education, job knowledge, and abilities.
- Pay Range: $22.00 per hour to $26.00 per hour

Qualifications
- Must be at least eighteen (18) years of age at the time of application
- Any combination of training, education, and experience equivalent to an Associate’s Degree in Parks and Recreation, Business Administration, Hospitality, Communications, or a related field
- Equivalent combinations of education and experience may be considered
Licensure or Certification Requirements
- CPR/AED Certification or ability to obtain within thirty (30) days of employment (City-funded)
Essential Functions
(For purposes of 42 USC 12101)
- Develop and implement programs and initiatives designed to increase and retain facility memberships
- Sell memberships, upgrades, and process membership changes in accordance with established procedures
- Maintain accurate and up-to-date membership records and tracking systems
- Assist the Assistant Recreation Director in developing strategies to increase member usage, satisfaction, and revenue
- Serve as Manager on Duty, providing oversight of daily facility operations
- Lead, train, and supervise part-time staff to promote consistent performance and customer service delivery
- Communicate operational updates, staffing needs, and member concerns to management
- Provide internal and external customer support that contributes to effective operations and positive member experiences
- Prepare and present operational reports, proposals, and recommendations for leadership as directed
- Assist with scheduling, budgeting, and program development
- Ensure compliance with City policies, procedures, and safety standards
Other Duties and Responsibilities
- Abide by the Standards of Conduct as defined by City Administration
- Attend meetings, seminars, and training sessions
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support department operations
Minimum Acceptable Characteristics
Knowledge of:
City policies and procedures; facility rules and regulations; fitness and recreation operations; staff supervision; recreation equipment; safety standards.
Skill in:
Customer service; staff training and supervision; program development; fitness and recreation equipment; basic office equipment; multitasking.
Ability to:
Provide staff leadership and direction; communicate clearly and professionally; manage multiple priorities; maintain professionalism in challenging situations; problem-solve routine operational issues; work independently or as part of a team; occasionally bend, lift, and carry equipment and supplies up to thirty (30) pounds; maintain mobility throughout the facility; and perform light cleaning and maintenance tasks.
This position is generally consistent with medium work under U.S. Department of Labor guidelines.
Work Schedule
Schedule varies based on operational needs, including evenings and weekends.
Minimum Qualifications

- Be able to demonstrate a combination of training, education, and/or experience that demonstrates an understanding of customer service and problem solving.
