About This Position
Fleet Services Account Executive Opportunity Summary:
We are seeking a Fleet Services Account Executive to drive new business development and build lasting partnerships with national and regional customers who rely on commercial vehicles to support their core operations. Many of our target customers are not in the trucking business. They are service companies, distributors, manufacturers and route-based operators that depend on fleet uptime to serve their customers but do not have fleet maintenance as a core competency. That is where we come in.
This is a high-impact, individual contributor role focused on designing customized fleet maintenance programs, winning competitive bids and managing complex sales cycles with C-suite and senior operations stakeholders. The ideal candidate is a self-motivated hunter who understands how to position outsourced fleet maintenance as a strategic advantage for companies that need their trucks on the road but would rather focus on running their business.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify, pursue and close new fleet maintenance contracts with national and regional prospects, with a particular focus on companies that operate commercial vehicle in support of their primary business operations
- Develop and present customized preventive maintenance programs, repair pricing agreements and service solutions tailored to each prospect's fleet profile and operational requirements
- Lead consultative sales engagements with C-suite executives, VP-level operations leaders and procurement teams, managing multi-stakeholder decision processes from initial contact through contract execution
- Build and manage a robust sales pipeline through proactive prospecting, industry networking, trade show participation and strategic relationship development
- Prepare and deliver compelling proposals, RFP/RFI responses and executive-level presentations that clearly articulate W.W. Williams value proposition and competitive differentiation
- Negotiate contract terms, pricing structures and service level agreements for high-value, multi-year fleet maintenance engagements
- Collaborate with internal operations, pricing and service delivery teams to ensure proposed solutions are operationally feasible and financially sound
- Lead internal alignment to successfully launch newly signed fleet programs and partner with operations teams to ensure smooth implementation
- Identify expansion opportunities within existing fleet relationships and drive program growth over time
- Maintain accurate opportunity tracking, forecasting and activity reporting within the company CRM platform
- Stay current on industry trends, competitive landscape and emerging fleet technologies to inform sales strategy and customer conversations
Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum 10 years of experience in B2B sales, business development or account management within fleet services, fleet maintenance, transportation or a closely related heavy-duty service industry
- Demonstrated track record of winning and managing large fleet maintenance contracts with national or regional customers
- Proven ability to design and structure fleet preventive maintenance programs, service agreements and pricing proposals from the ground up
- Strong executive presence with experience leading sales conversations and contract negotiations at the C-suite and senior leadership level
- Self-motivated, entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to independently manage territory development, pipeline generation and deal progression with minimal oversight
- Creative problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative service solutions that address complex fleet maintenance challenges
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including experience developing executive-level presentations and formal proposals
- Proficiency with CRM platforms (Salesforce preferred) and standard business productivity tools
- Willingness to travel up to 40% to support prospect development, customer meetings and industry events
Preferred:
- Experience selling fleet maintenance solutions to companies where fleet operations support the primary business rather than being the primary business (e.g., uniform services, food and beverage distribution, industrial services, route-based delivery)
- Experience managing sales cycles involving RFP/RFI processes for large fleet operators
- Familiarity with fleet management software, telematics platforms or maintenance scheduling systems
- Knowledge of heavy-duty truck, trailer, refrigerated transport or power generation equipment and service requirements
- Understanding of mobile and field service delivery models, including on-site maintenance operations
- Background in building or improving fleet maintenance pricing models, rate card structures or quoting processes
What We Offer:
- Competitive compensation package with performance-based incentives
- Opportunity to sell for one of the largest and most respected independent service organizations in the country
- Access to a broad portfolio of service capabilities spanning diesel engine, transmission, power systems, hydraulics and mobile fleet service
- Collaborative, growth-oriented culture with strong operational support behind every deal you close
- Career advancement opportunities within a dynamic, expanding organization
Employee Rewards and Benefits:
- 8 Paid Holidays & 1 Paid Wellness Day
- Paid Time Off
- Employee Referral Bonus Program
- Medical, Dental & Vision Insurance
- 401k with a Company Match
- Company Paid Training
- Growth & Leadership Opportunities
