About This Position

CDN is a recognized industry leader in the energy services sector. CDN is a full-service provider with expertise in E&I maintenance, renewables/solar, major projects, combustion & emissions reduction, and measurement.

  • Role: Supervisor - Field Operations. Must have red seal journeyperson ticket in either electrical or instrumentation trade.
  • Location: based out of our Kitimat branch
  • Shift: 5 days per week, 8 hours per day with night shift and overtime as required
  • Pre-Employment Condition: Pre-employment D&A test required
  • Additional Details: Must be familiar with SAP, MS Office, MS Teams, and managing a team of up to 40 technicians.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage day-to-day activities on site and ensure that the project runs smoothly from beginning to end.
  • Provide daily supervision and direction to crew members, ensuring safe, productive, and high-quality work practices.
  • Communicate effectively with employees and clients.
  • Monitor and maintain the project maintenance schedule on a weekly basis.
  • Develop and maintain positive working relationships with consultants and clients.
  • Highlight and discuss important concerns during on-site meetings.
  • Maintain a safe job site and ensure that the requirements of the Occupational Health and Safety Act are enforced.
  • Liaise with client on a regular basis to discuss the projects status, to proactively identify and resolve problems.
  • Prepare project documentation for labour management, materials, equipment costs, expense submittals, field reports, safety meeting minutes, and change order requests.
  • Coordinate and direct quality control inspections as required.
  • Control and monitor labour, material and equipment expenses.
  • Assist in the creation of the monthly cost forecasting summaries.
  • Monitor the overall procurement of the project by administering contracts, purchase orders, and other agreements to ensure the projects scope, terms, and conditions are consistently and proactively being achieved.
  • Manage any changes in project scope and ensure all changes are tracked and communicated effectively and efficiently.
  • Prepare and expedite project deficiency lists.
  • Maintain daily time tickets, safety reports, etc.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements:

  • Typically 10 or more years of related experience.
  • Leadership roles require 3 or more years of people leadership experience.
  • Completion of trade qualification(s).
  • Project management experience required.
  • A valid Class 5 license with a clean driver abstract.
  • Valid H2S, First Aid Level C CPR & AED, CSTS, CSO, TDG & WHMIS safety tickets.
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Knowledgeable with MS Office, particularly with Word, Outlook and Excel.
  • Demonstrate a strong team-oriented mindset and collaborate effectively in group environments.
  • Possesses strong organizational abilities and excels at problem-solving.
