Overview

Position Overview:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Electrical Power Systems Engineer to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be responsible for the design, analysis, and optimization of power systems, focusing on both AC and DC distribution systems. You will work with a variety of electrical components including motors, generators, and switchgear, as well as contribute to modeling and simulation efforts. This position offers the opportunity to work on cutting-edge technologies within a collaborative engineering environment.

Key Responsibilities and Required Qualifications:
  • Perform detailed propulsion power system analysis, including fault and system stability studies for AC and DC power distribution systems.
  • Modeling and design experience propulsion power plant components including turbine generators and power conversion modules and Electric Motors
  • Work on the design, implementation, and optimization of electric motors and generators.
  • Utilize MATLAB and Simulink for data processing, model development, and system simulation.
  • Develop and implement power system solutions, including protective relaying, switchboards and circuit breakers
  • Collaborate with other engineering teams to ensure compliance with technical specifications and project requirements.

  • Team Collaboration and Communication: Ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams, collaborating with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers
  • Technical Documentation: Expertise in creating and maintaining detailed technical documentation, including system specifications, engineering reports, and design manuals.
  • Attention to Detail: Precision in performing simulations, conducting analyses, and ensuring all designs meet performance and safety standards.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance: Familiarity with industry standards and best practices, ensuring all designs, analyses, and systems meet required quality, safety, and regulatory standards.
  • Software Proficiency: Strong working knowledge of MATLAB and Simulink for modeling, simulation, and system analysis.
  • Adaptability and Continuous Learning: Willingness to stay up-to-date with the latest advancements in power systems engineering and emerging technologies. Ability to adapt quickly to new tools, systems, and methodologies in a fast-paced, evolving field.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
  • A minimum of 10 years of experience in Mechanical and Electrical Design.
