Seasonal Server at Country Club of Detroit – Grosse Pointe Farms, Michigan

Country Club of Detroit is looking for seasonal servers to assist in our multiple dining venues throughout our Club. Dining venues include our Poolside Grill (located on our Summer Village Campus) and internal Clubhouse (Men's Lockerroom Lounge, Grille Room, Main Dining) and range from casual to fine dining experiences. Our seasonal servers can start as early as April 15th and can work potentially through September 30th (or November 1st for halfway house employees), depending on the season.

A Day in the Life (Summary):

Servers at Country Club of Detroit work under guidance from the Lead Servers. Servers provide exceptional dining experiences to Members and guests ensuring tables are clean and tidy upon arrival and will then present menus while being knowledgeable of menu items and available beverages, take orders, serve food and beverages, complete side work and take initiative in setting up future service events as well as being an overall team player.

Essential Job Duties:

• Greet and acknowledge Members and guests
• Distributes and is knowledgeable about menu and beverages
• Ability to time the service of each course
• Learns Member’s names and their special preferences
• Ensures correct account numbers for billing
• Present a polity and friendly attitude
• Sets up side station and performs assigned side (prep) work
• Provides immediate attention to all Members and guests
• Removes soiled dishes and clears tables after each course and resets with appropriate silverware
• Performs clean-up and reset of tables

Minimum Skills & Qualifications:

• Knowledge of applicable laws and regulations
• Ability to evaluate customer satisfaction and be responsive
• Impeccable customer service and social perceptiveness
• Ability to enforce club policies regarding the consumption of alcohol and other rules & etiquette of the club
• Accountability in maintaining inventory and processing chits
• Physical ability to stand or walk for long periods of time
• Must be legally authorized to work in the United States

Working Conditions:

• Frequent walking throughout premises
• Standing for prolonged periods of time
• Bending, Stooping and lifting regularly
• Fast-paced environment with exposure to loud music/noises and alcohol
• Ability to lift 50 pounds on occasion
