SEACORP is seeking a well-qualified Engineering Technician III.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Job Summary: SEACORP's System Assembly Integration and Platform Installation Business Area is seeking an Engineering Technician III. The Engineering Technician III will apply electrical theory andrelated knowledge to test and modify developmental or operational electricalmachinery and electrical control equipment and circuitry in industrial orcommercial plants and laboratories. They will usually work under direction of engineeringstaff. Technicians, Engineering have similar general technical duties as theyrelate to their specific technical discipline (electrical, electronics, ormechanical).
Job Responsibilities Include:
- Proficient at assembling orinstalling equipment or parts requiring simple wiring, soldering, or connectingand performing simple or routine tasks, utilizing drawings and instructions.
- Operates and adjusts simpletest equipment; records test data.
- Performs recurring workindependently; work is reviewed for technical adequacy or conformity withinstructions.
- May troubleshoot and correct malfunctions.
- Also assists in design modification by compilingdata related to design, specifications, and materials which are pertinent tospecific items of equipment or component parts.
- Uses judgment and initiativeto recognize inconsistencies or gaps in data and seeks sources to clarifyinformation.
- Position does require travel (up to 30%).
Qualifications:
Education: Technical School diploma.
Experience: 3 years of experience. Experience with cableconnectorization is a plus.
As a requirement of employment, all SEACORP employees must hold U.S. Citizenship.

Travel: Quarterly (approximately 4 times a year)

Work Environment & Physical Demands: This position operates in standard Office, Assembly Laboratory, and Aboard Vessel/Shipyard environments. Standard offices and laboratories: Sitting, standing, extended periods of time using a mouse and keyboard and viewing computer screens. Movement between points within the same office or between buildings. Work is performed in generally consistent environmental conditions with some seasonality for temperature differences and lighting. In shipyards and aboard vessels: Significant use of hands to operate equipment and tools. Significant lifting of <40 lbs.; occasional lifting >40 lbs. Sitting, stooping, bending, twisting, reaching, lying prone, and squatting on a daily basis. Work is performed in highly variable work conditions to include seasonable variations in weather and temperature. High probability of working in confined spaces where movement is restricted. Dust, noise and constant activity associated with the movements of materials and people, and the fabrication of steel, including welding and the use of overhead cranes/hoists. Personal Protective Equipment: safety shoes and hard hat required; hearing protection and safety glasses recommended.
