Note: The compensation range noted above represents the base salaries for all positions at a given grade across the health system. Typically, a new hire can expect a starting salary somewhere in the lower part of the range. Actual salaries will be determined based on the candidate's relevant experience. No employee will be paid below the minimum of the range.

Our Urology Specialty Physician Practice is seeking an experienced Medical Assistant to perform duties within the scope of responsibility of a medical assistant with additional tasks related to patient flow in the office.

Overview of Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide age-appropriate, developmentally appropriate patient care in accordance with standards.

  • Greet, escort, and assist patients into clinical areas, ensuring comfort and safety.

  • Take and document vital signs; prepare patients for provider visits.

  • Collect and accurately record patient history, medications, allergies, and relevant health information.

  • Communicate clearly and professionally with patients of all ages and backgrounds.

  • Coordinate patient flow, including notifying patients of delays and handling prescription refill requests.

  • Arrange follow-up care, referrals, diagnostic tests, and ensure completion of required documentation.

  • Maintain exam rooms by stocking supplies, cleaning between visits, and ensuring overall readiness.

  • Assist providers with exams, procedures, phlebotomy, and other clinical tasks as directed.

  • Support administrative and operational tasks, including scheduling, answering phones, managing inventory, and maintaining a safe, organized workspace.

Qualifications:

Education & Licenses/Registrations: High school graduate or equivalent in addition to:

  • Medical Assistant: Successful completion of a Medical Assistant school with ABHES or CAAHEP accreditation; must be registered/certified within six months of hire with one of the following: RMA/AMT, CMA/AAMA, or CCMA/NHA
  • Emergency Medical Technician: Must hold an EMT Certification in Massachusetts
  • Certified Nursing Assistant: Must hold a CNA Certification in Massachusetts

Experience: Two years of general experience as a medical or clinical assistant in a patient care or clinical environment preferred

Special Aptitudes & Activities: Ability to read, write and communicate in English. Bilingual in English/Spanish preferred. Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to understand and follow written and verbal instructions, use appropriate medical terminology, and safely perform clinical tasks requiring manual dexterity and proper body mechanics. Ability to provide effective, patient-centered care across diverse populations, including performing procedures such as venipuncture and maintaining the sensory awareness needed to support safe and accurate clinical work.
