Job Overview

Allen & Frey Builders & Remodelers Inc is seeking a detail-oriented and analytical Construction Estimator to join our Sales & Client Relations team. In this role, you will analyze project plans, specifications, and client requirements to develop accurate and competitive cost estimates for residential and commercial construction projects.

The ideal candidate will combine strong technical knowledge of construction with exceptional analytical skills to prepare precise estimates that support project success. You will work closely with project managers, subcontractors, suppliers, and clients to ensure each proposal reflects realistic budgets, efficient construction methods, and the high standards of quality our company is known for.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review project plans, blueprints, and specifications to understand scope and requirements.

  • Prepare accurate cost estimates for materials, labor, equipment, permits, and subcontractor services.

  • Develop detailed bid proposals for residential and commercial construction projects.

  • Communicate with subcontractors and suppliers to obtain competitive pricing and availability.

  • Analyze project risks and recommend cost-effective solutions and value engineering options.

  • Track and revise estimates as project details evolve during the bidding process.

  • Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to ensure estimates align with project goals.

  • Maintain organized records of bids, estimates, and historical cost data for future reference.

  • Assist with bid submissions and support the sales process through accurate pricing and project insights.

Qualifications
  • 4+ years of experience in construction estimating or a related construction role preferred.

  • Bachelors degree in Construction Management, Engineering, or a related field preferred.

  • Entry-level candidates with strong technical knowledge and relevant education may be considered.

  • Strong understanding of construction methods, materials, and building codes.

  • Ability to read and interpret blueprints and technical drawings.

  • Proficiency with estimating software and spreadsheets.

  • Excellent mathematical, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.

  • Effective communication and negotiation skills when working with vendors and subcontractors.

  • Ability to manage multiple estimates and deadlines simultaneously.

Work Schedule
