About This Position
OVERVIEW
Cadrex is searching for an Engineering Technician III who provides advanced technical support to engineering, manufacturing, and quality teams by building, testing, maintaining, and improving equipment, tooling, and processes. This role applies extensive hands-on expertise to troubleshoot complex issues, support new product introductions, and drive continuous improvement initiatives. The Engineering Technician III operates with minimal supervision and serves as a technical resource and mentor to junior technicians.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Build, modify, test, and troubleshoot complex mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems and assemblies
- Support engineering design validation, process development, and production launch activities
- Diagnose and resolve advanced equipment, tooling, and process issues to minimize downtime and improve reliability
- Develop and execute test plans; collect, analyze, and document data and results
- Collaborate with engineers, manufacturing, quality, and maintenance teams to implement design and process improvements
- Create and maintain technical documentation, including work instructions, test procedures, and equipment specifications
- Assist with installation, commissioning, and qualification of new equipment and production lines
- Provide technical guidance and mentoring to Engineering Technician I and II team members
- Support root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement initiatives
- Ensure compliance with safety standards, quality systems, and regulatory requirements
- Interface with vendors and suppliers for equipment, components, and technical support as needed
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
- 5+ years of engineering technician experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment preferred
- Strong knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and electromechanical systems
- Proven ability to troubleshoot complex technical issues independently
- Experience using hand tools, precision measurement equipment, and diagnostic instruments
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, schematics, and technical specifications
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and basic engineering or manufacturing software tools
- Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in cross-functional teams
EDUCATION
- Associate degree in Engineering Technology, Electronics, Mechatronics, or a related technical field preferred
