ORGANIZATION SUMMARY
World Relief is a global Christian humanitarian organization whose mission is to boldly engage the worlds greatest crises in partnership with the church. POSITION SUMMARY:
US Programs is creating a new Crisis Response Coordination Team across enterprise divisions for the purpose of harnessing and harmonizing unique acumen and capacities that will ensure that clients, partners, and WR staff feel supported, engaged, and rallied to respond to crises. This role will project-manage and coordinate this complex cross-departmental collaboration.
Part-time position for 25 hours per week, with a flexible schedule.
This is a limited-term position funded through a grant agreement until September 30, 2026, and contingent upon funding extension.
The Crisis Response Senior Specialist will be focused narrowly on streams of work flowing through the Crisis Response Coordination Team with key objectives and responsibilities listed as follows:
1. Facilitate clear, timely communication across teams to ensure unified crisis response.
- Establish and maintain structured communication to ensure timely, transparent information sharing across all participating US Programs and Enterprise divisions.
- Act as a central point of contact for crisis response coordination, ensuring staff, leaders, and partners have rapid access to the information they need.
2. Develop new systems and procedures to increase multi-departmental efficiency and cohesion
- Assess current workflows and identify gaps or redundancies that hinder rapid crisis response, then design streamlined processes that support collaboration and reduce response time.
- Create clear documentation and workflow maps that outline new procedures, ensuring teams have a consistent operational framework to follow.
3. Create and maintain a project plan tracking deliverables, timelines, and key dependencies.
- Develop and maintain a master project plan that tracks milestones, deadlines, and owner responsibilities across multiple workstreams.
- Monitor progress toward deliverables, proactively identify delays or blockers, and facilitate solution-oriented discussions to keep the initiative on schedule.
4. Clarify responsibilities, develop timelines, and guide various streams of work
- Facilitate alignment meetings to define scope, assign ownership, and set realistic timelines for each crisis response workstream.
- Provide ongoing guidance to ensure stakeholders understand their roles, expected outputs, and interdependencies with other teams.
5. Identify and mitigate risks, keep stakeholders informed, and manage expectations.
- Conduct regular risk assessments to identify emerging challenges in the crisis response coordination process and recommend mitigation strategies.
- Prepare and disseminate timely updates and briefing materials to ensure internal leadership and stakeholders remain informed, aligned, and confident in progress.
6. Plan, facilitate, and follow up on meetings to ensure decisions and action items move forward.
- Ensure all coordination meetings are efficient, and outcome oriented by managing agendas, facilitating discussions, and capturing action items.
- Oversee follow up communications and ensure accountability for next steps to maintain project momentum.

- Desire to serve and empower the Church to impact vulnerable communities
- Able to affirm and/or acknowledge World Reliefs Core Beliefs, Statement of Faith, Christian Identity and National Association of Evangelicals' For the Health of The Nation document
- Ability to work 15-25 hours per week on a temporary basis through September 30th, 2026
- Previous World Relief experience required; US Office experience preferred
- Bachelor’s degree and/or PMP certification required
- 5+ years of experience in project management
- Experience coordinating and guiding complex cross-departmental initiatives
- Experience in deploying Asana or other project management software.
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects with limited resources and competing priorities
