Job Summary:

The Conformity Technician is responsible for carrying out field inspection activities for the Field Evaluation Department. The role involves ensuring compliance with various industry standards and providing technical support for conformity assessments. The Conformity Technician must be proficient in technical skills related to electrical work, possess strong communication skills, and be capable of working safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

  • None.

Duties/Responsibilities:

Training and Development

  • Participate in training sessions to stay updated on industry standards and best practices.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to colleagues and clients.

Field Inspections

  • Conduct field inspection activities, including travel to various sites.
  • Evaluate equipment and systems for compliance with industry standards such as UL, IEEE, NEC, etc.

Research and Report Writing

  • Perform research on technical standards and regulations.
  • Write detailed reports on inspection findings and compliance assessments.

Miscellaneous Administration

  • Handle administrative tasks related to the conformity evaluation process.
  • Maintain accurate records of inspections, reports, and other documentation.

Sales Support

  • Assist the sales team with technical inquiries and support.

Additional responsibilities and tasks as required to support the organization's goals and adapt to evolving business needs.

Attributes/Abilities:

  • Must have a satisfactory background/MVR check.
  • Must pass a pre-employment, post-accident, reasonable suspicion, and/or random drug test.
  • Attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service and leadership skills.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Acrobat.

Experience and Education:

  • Trade or technical school certificate/diploma in Electrical.
  • 1+ years of experience in a related field (Industrial Equipment, Industrial Design, Power Distribution Equipment, Industrial Machinery, Control Panels etc).
  • Strong technical skills and familiarity with industry standards.

Physical Requirements:

  • Ability to work safely around electrical and mechanical hazards.
  • Operates light measuring instruments.
  • Potential low exposure to various conditions, including dirt, heat, fumes, smoke, water, noise, vibration, grease, oil, and dust.
  • Requires field work in industrial environments.
  • May require travel 40% of the time.
