This role is a strategic finance leadership position responsible for scaling and institutionalizing technical accounting, financial reporting, and internal control functions. The Director will ensure accurate, compliant, and scalable accounting processes that support business growth, audit readiness, and complex financial transactions. Acting as a trusted advisor to cross-functional teams, this role drives process improvement, automation, and standardization to enhance efficiency and transparency. Success in this position requires deep technical expertise, strong judgment in complex accounting matters, and the ability to influence stakeholders while maintaining a robust control environment. The role also involves leading a high-performing team and fostering collaboration across finance, operations, and business leadership.
- Lead technical accounting for complex transactions, ensuring compliance with U.S. GAAP and alignment with business objectives.
- Oversee financial reporting processes, including monthly, quarterly, and annual close cycles, delivering timely and accurate results.
- Partner with business teams to assess accounting implications of new initiatives, contracts, and strategic decisions.
- Strengthen internal controls and SOX readiness to improve auditability and risk management.
- Develop and maintain accounting policies, technical memos, and documentation to support internal governance and external audits.
- Drive process improvements and automation across accounting workflows to increase efficiency and scalability.
- Serve as a finance advisor to cross-functional stakeholders, ensuring clarity and alignment on complex accounting matters.
Requirements:
- CPA certification with 10+ years of accounting experience, including public accounting (Big 4 strongly preferred).
- Deep expertise in U.S. GAAP, technical accounting standards, and financial reporting processes.
- Experience in SOX compliance, internal controls, and audit-ready process management.
- Proven ability to write technical accounting memos, policies, and documentation.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and judgment skills applied to complex accounting and business challenges.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills, with experience influencing cross-functional teams.
- Experience in high-growth or evolving environments and a mindset focused on process improvement and scalability.
- Familiarity with ERP systems such as NetSuite and exposure to blockchain or digital asset accounting is a plus.
