About This Position
Purpose of this Job:
This job is responsible for product quality assurance for automotive, off highway and aftermarket customers. This job involves supporting the internal processes and external customer to drive improvements in product quality, warranty performance and customer satisfaction.
Principle Duties/Essential Functions
· Develops and implements Quality Assurance plans for specified customers based on Sanden and customer requirements. Must maintain positive customer scorecard metrics while continuously improving outcomes.
· Writes, reviews, and approves written procedures and instructions for testing, sorting, re-working, deviations and inspection standards
Other Tasks/Responsibilities:
· Supports activities necessary to ensure that customer satisfaction is maintained for product quality, delivery, and continuous improvement.
· Participates and supports APQP activities during all phases to successfully and flawlessly launch new products.
· Coordinates PPAP activities to the customer overseeing the development and production processes.
· Develops and implements Quality Assurance plans based on Sanden/Customer requirements.
· Acts as the primary contact for the customer on quality concerns.
· Initiates and tracks to closure corrective actions for internal and external concerns.
· Ensures that problem resolution is thorough and meets all Sanden/Customer expectations.
· Communicates with both Sanden and customer personnel to assure that quality concerns and problem resolutions are resolved effectively and in a timely manner.
· Utilizes Six Sigma and other statistical methods for problem solving and process improvement.
· Schedules and assists in Product/Process audits and assures that the audit meets all Quality Assurance standards.
· Reviews and analyzes existing processes for improvement on overall product quality, manufacturing capabilities, process control, and scrap reduction.
· Develops and maintains QA Matrices, Control Plan, Flow Chart, and PFMEA for Quality Assurance related functions.
· Reviews and approves Test Plans and Results during the validation process.
· Reduce warranty costs through effective customer negotiations, statistical problem solving, and implementation of product improvements
· Responsible for awareness and compliance with company Environmental, Health and Safety (EHS) policies, procedures and regulatory requirements. Contributing to the effectiveness of the EHS policies and procedures by communicating and reporting unsafe conditions and/or non-compliances.

Requirements:Education:
· Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred) Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Quality Engineering or related field
Knowledge, Skills and Experience:
· 2 to 3 years of experience in the Manufacturing / Quality areas required
· Knowledge in process planning, set-up and control of common manufacturing processes such as – die casting, machining, metal/plastic/rubber forming, heat treatment and automotive component assemblies
· Must be capable of making decisions with a minimum of guidance and direction
· Ability to conceptualize tasks, track and accomplish them
· Familiar with non-destructive test methods, precision measuring equipment and gauge design
· Knowledge in the following disciplines: GD & T, measurement methods, MSA, SPC, FMEA, APQP, PPAP, problem solving techniques (8D), 5 Why’s, Pareto Analysis, Six Sigma, IATF16949 and ISO9000:2015 quality systems, process and system auditing principles
· Identify key KPIs for product quality
· Exposure to the automotive industry and requirements. Familiar with Automotive Industry Action Group (AIAG) standards
· Advanced MS Excel knowledge. Power point, Minitab, Solid Works, AutoCAD
· Strong organizational skills, strong interpersonal and communications skills, presentation skills and an excellent statistical analysis ability
· Understanding of project management (experience preferred)
· Prepare and present reports and metrics to Senior Management
· Team player. Must work well with diverse groups of people
· Good time management skills
Licenses or Certifications:
· Certified Quality Engineer preferred
· Certified auditor/VDA Preferred
· Certified Six Sigma or Lean Manufacturing Preferred
Physical Demands:
· Ability to work effectively under pressure
· Continuously meets short deadlines while maintaining technical quality of the results
· Must be able to deal with a wide variety of people on a personal level
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
· Employee must regularly wear safety glasses, safety shoes and hearing protection
· Other PPE may be required based on specific projects
Work Environment/Hours:
· Office environment 60%, Manufacturing environment 40%
· Must work normal office hours plus provide support on evenings and weekend (as needed)
Primary Work Location:
· Wylie, TX
Travel Requirements:
· 5 to 10% domestic travel
· 5% international travel to countries such as but not limited to Mexico, Japan and Germany.
