Job Title: Association Pickleball Coordinator

Branch: Stevens Point/Plover Area YMCA Location: 1780 Plover Road, Plover, WI 54467

Shifts/Availability: Part-Time Time Hourly/Non-Exempt

Position Summary: The Association Pickleball Coordinator will help manage and enhance the pickleball program at the YMCA of Stevens Point Area – Plover and provide support across all association branches including our pickle ball Center.

Responsibilities:

· Develop a diverse schedule of year-round youth and family programs and a welcoming environment that encourages all skill levels to participate.

· Assist with the oversight of open skill level play, tournaments, leagues and special events to promote the sport and build community.

· Recruit, train, and supervise volunteer ambassadors to provide assistance with special events and to monitor skill-level play as needed.

· Assist with opening and operational support at our new YMCA Pickleball Center.

· Instruct pickleball lessons, clinics, and drill sessions on techniques, tactics, and strategies to improve participants’ overall game. This includes both one-on-one lessons and group clinics for all levels.

· Provide leadership to ensure Intro to Pickleball sessions are being offered association wide.

· Organize and oversee our Pickleball Club.

· Lead the program with enthusiasm and positive motivation.

· Lead by example at all times. Interact with a high level of professionalism and accountability.

· Ability to direct programs through supervision of volunteers and staff required in a fast-paced working environment.

· Demonstrate advanced knowledge and ability to demonstrate skills necessary for specialty field.

· Ensures that program and Association standards and policies are met and safety procedures are followed and assures compliance with state and local regulations.

· Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor, The Member Experience Director.

Certification as Pickleball Instructor required or willing to obtain pickleball instructor certification.
