About This Position
Position Summary:
The Patient Access Coordinator is responsible for providing outstanding customer service in a team-based environment by supporting the clinical support staff and providers. The Patient Access Coordinator is a multi-tasking position that requires the individual to be organized and well versed in the insurance industry.
Key Responsibilities
• Check in/out patients for their appointments. Ensure demographics and forms are up to date in the patient’s chart.
• Check Mail and faxes daily.
• Confirm appointments- two days prior to their appointment and follow up with any patients who do not show up for their appointments.
• Handles scheduling and appointments with patients.
• Pre-registration of appointments by checking eligibility of insurance and sending out request for referrals and authorizations if needed for insurance purposes.
• Interacts exceptionally well with the referring practices who will be sending patients to our clinic.
• Collects Copays and communicates any balances to the patients.
• Obtains/ Receives Medical Records when needed.
• Scans in Medical Records into the EMR System.
• Maintains a first-class attitude and is positive by nature.
• Works passionately to deliver a first-class experience for patients who come to Memory Treatment Centers. Facilitates positive reviews from patients.
• Must be a problem solver, and someone who actively works well with others in the organization.
