Position: Lab Engineer
Job Summary
This position requires a engineering background. The Lab Engineer is responsible for supporting laboratory testing, equipment management, and project coordination within an R&D and prototype lab environment. The role requires understanding the technical objectives, test intent, and engineering context of ongoing projects, rather than only executing tasks.
Key Responsibilities
Operation Management & Lab Asset Management
- Manage availability and readiness of lab equipment, tools, and fixtures.
- Coordinate installation, relocation, maintenance, and calibration activities.
- Assist engineers with test scheduling, materials preparation, and equipment readiness.
- Organize and maintain test data, records, and reports.
- Maintain equipment documentation, manuals, and SOPs.
Procurement & Logistic Support
- Assist with purchase order creation and tracking.
- Coordinate supplier communication and delivery schedules.
- Support inventory management for lab consumables.
- Support all logistic related activities.
Documentation & Compliance
- Maintain lab operation and test documentation.
- Support safety, quality, and compliance requirements.
- Assist with audit and review preparation.
Continuous Improvement
- Identify opportunities to improve lab efficiency and workflows.
- Support implementation of improved processes.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, or related engineering discipline.
- Strong understanding of engineering testing and lab operations.
- Ability to read engineering drawings and technical documentation.
- Hands-on experience in a lab, R&D, or manufacturing environment.
- Strong organizational and communication skills.
