About This Position
Seeking a Contracts Manager to administer and manage US Government and commercial contracts, subcontract agreements, analyze complex bid and proposal tenders, review FAR/DFARS, and will interact with customers and lead contract negotiations. The Contracts Manager also tracks, creates, and maintains contract data requirements and deliverables and interacts regularly with senior and executive management. They will support proposal preparation and contact customers to ensure contract acquisition is in accordance with company policies, legal requirements, and customer specifications with a focus on new business with U.S. Government and commercial contracts.

Key Responsibilities:Full Lifecycle Contract Management
- Administer prime contracts, subcontracts, modifications, task orders, and purchase orders for DoD and other federal agencies.
- Draft, review, and negotiate contractual terms and conditions with government customers and subcontractors.
- Interpret and apply FAR and DFARS clauses and ensure proper flow-down requirements.
- Support capture efforts, proposal review, and contract formation.
- Monitor funding, deliverables, period of performance, and option years.
- Ensure compliance with FAR, DFARS, ITAR, and export control regulations.
- Support adherence to SBA program requirements (8(a) if applicable.
- Assist with subcontracting plans and reporting requirements.
- Maintain audit readiness for DCAA and customer reviews.
- Identify contractual risk and recommend practical mitigation strategies aligned with business objectives.
- Support Engineering with patent and trademark administration.
- Work closely with Operations and Program Management to ensure contract requirements are executable within manufacturing constraints.
- Support change management, equitable adjustments, and claims.
- Partner with Supply Chain to negotiate and administer compliant subcontracts.
- Assist in managing government property and quality clauses as required.
- Develop and improve contract templates, negotiation playbooks, and standard operating procedures appropriate for a growing small business.
- Help scale contracts infrastructure to support company growth.
- Provide guidance to staff and internal stakeholders.
- Serve as a trusted advisor to leadership on contractual risk and strategy.
- Knowledge of, and experience managing and administering various types of Government and Commercial agreements and contracts (e.g., FFP, CR, CPFF, T&M, IDIQ’s, SOW, Subcontracts, NDAs, TA's, POs, DoD, and various commercial agreements etc.)
- Proficient in independently negotiating favorable terms and conditions on large multi-million-dollar contracts.
- Strong knowledge of FAR/DFAR regulations, with an understanding of Prime Contractor flow down provisions, usage, and applicability.
- High degree of knowledge in commercial contracting
- Experience working in a small or mid-sized government contractor strongly preferred
- Skilled understanding of contract concepts, principles, and legal applications and compliance
- Ability to lead the negotiations for change orders due to changes to the scope of work or project terms.
- Ability to understand the financial aspects of contracts and other business arrangements.
- Ability to prioritize high volume contracts and proposals.
- Experience in Microsoft Suite (Excel, Word, etc.)
- Minimum of 5+ years of related experience within Contracts or 8+ years demonstrated equivalency of experience and/or education.
- Experience with ITAR/EAR controls including Technical Assistance Agreements
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Contract Management (preferred Government Contract Management ) or Business Administration
- Paralegal certification or Juris Doctor (JD) preferred.
