About This Position
The Clinic Director is responsible for the operations and administrative oversight of multiple Steadman Clinic locations in Vail; Frisco & Edwards. Primarily based on-site at the Vail Clinic location, this position coordinates office administration, operations and general procedures in order to ensure organizational effectiveness, efficiency and safety across all locations. The Clinic Director is responsible for developing intra-office communication protocols, streamlining administrative procedures, inventory control, and scheduling to ensure exceptional patient experience. Frequent travel between Vail, Frisco & Edwards locations will be required.
Major Job Responsibilities/ Essential Functions:
- Manage daily operations at multiple clinic locations and coordinate general work activities as well as clinical and surgical schedules.
- Closely partner with key stakeholders to ensure organization needs are met with local ambulatory surgery centers.
- Accurately and efficiently use EMR (modernizing medicine), including running reports.
- Ensure that staff deliver safe, high-quality patient care.
- Develop growth initiatives, and meet or exceed operational EBITDA goals, for clinic operations and ensuring that these align with goals of the larger organization.
- Assist in the development of Clinic budgets and ensure that Clinic operations are maintained strictly within budgetary parameters.
- Maintain office services and efficiency by planning and implementing effective office systems and measuring against established targets and standards
- Partner with HR in recruiting and staff performance management activities
- Ensure office staff are fully trained and providing high quality and efficient healthcare administrative services.
- Prepare and track core stakeholder metrics through reporting, analysis; and presenting information that identifies trends and potential areas of opportunity and growth
- Ensure excellent quality, timeliness, and customer service throughout the entire patient experience
- Maintain an in-depth knowledge of all facets of TSC process, policies and procedures
- Ensure consistency and continuity of services by on-boarding and training new clinical employees and support staff
- Management of general Clinic and Office supplies, including inventory and ordering
- Facilitate activities that promote and reinforce company culture across clinic locations
- Establishes and maintains effective relationships with patients, families, key decision-makers, facility and department staff, and collaborating physicians.
- Maintains effective relationships with partners (including local health care stakeholders) in the community and beyond.
- Demonstrates understanding and compliance with HIPAA patient privacy rights.
- Maintains confidentiality of all medical, financial, or other sensitive materials and information in printed, electronic or verbal form.
- Accesses and uses the minimum necessary patient identifiable information to perform job responsibilities and duties and only for authorized purposes.
- Maintain personal commitment to the Steadman Clinic mission and values.
- Follow policies as established in the Employee Handbook.
- Conduct staff meetings for clinic-based staff.
- Attend regular staff meetings and other required meetings.
- Evaluate performance and make recommendations for merit increases, promotions, and disciplinary actions.
- Performs other duties as assigned by supervising Practice Director and or Physician which may include the following bullet points.
Knowledge, Experience, and Skill Requirements:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred in healthcare or business administration.
- At least 3 years of office management experience including at least two years in a health care organization.
- Demonstrated problem solving and workflow management skills required.
- Must be energetic, quality driven and have proven ability to be productive member of a cohesive team of peers dedicated to providing optimum patient care.
- Must maintain a professional attitude towards patients and an excellent and collegial working relationship with other Steadman Clinic personnel involved in patient care and administrative management.
- Must demonstrate understanding of procedures, policies and documentation required to ensure compliance with healthcare standards of care.
- Excellent communication, critical thinking, ability to work independently, and manage time effectively.
- Ability to prepare reports, analyze financial and other business data.
- Knowledge of payment/reimbursement systems and government/legal regulations and requirements related to health care.
- Knowledge of health care delivery trends and implications for clinical specialty and for the medical practice.
- Familiarity with medical terminology.
- Evaluate and restructure work to make patient flow and other operational systems more efficient.
- Knowledge of clinical policies and procedures.
