Overview
This position is for the COLUMBIA Construction Program Office at Quonset Point. The successful candidate(s) will be responsible for all activities associated with modular submarine construction for the COLUMBIA Program, SSBN827 and follow ship modules. In support of this mission, program office representatives will focus specifically on section and modular construction activities to oversee and provide guidance to all departments and functions to support overall ship construction program objectives relative to the safety, quality, cost, schedule, and process improvement.
The program office representative's primary responsibility is to drive critical and controlling path items for ship modules under their cognizance. These responsibilities include, but are not limited to:
- Facilitating ship progress meetings supporting Ship's construction to drive progress and quickly resolve challenges
- Validating sequencing and scheduling logic for critical path activities
- Providing direction to the Operations Management on the priority work for the following week’s OWL plan
- Maintaining real-time tracking of WIP (Work-in-Progress) status on super modules
- Interfacing with 330/957 to ensure material availability or create alternate construction plans to support
- Clearing stop work (CN, material, QA, etc.) on critical path activities
- Scheduling and executing super module shipments from Quonset Point and all focus factories in accordance with applicable procedures
- Ensuring module offloads are coordinated between Quonset Point, all focus factories, and Groton in accordance with applicable procedures
- Providing rapid coordination support on emergent design or construction issues
- Interfacing with Design and Change Management teams for resolution
- Providing walkthrough feedback – sharing observations from walkthroughs
In addition to tight collaboration with Operations, the program representatives will work closely with all program office representatives, as well as Engineering and Design, Quality Assurance, all areas of Planning (where applicable) to resolve items affecting construction of cognizant modules and ensure CLB Construction Program objectives are being maintained and improved ship over ship.

Qualifications
Required:
- High School/GED
- 2+ years in project construction / manufacturing experience
- Broad knowledge and/or experience in several trade disciplines with expertise in at least one or more of the major trades (e.g., test, piping, electrical, steel, and mechanical)
- Applicant must possess or be able to secure secret or higher DOD clearance

- EB Planning experience
- College degree in related field
