Overview

The Maintenance Engineering Supervisor is responsible for ensuring the reliability, safety, and efficiency of all manufacturing equipment, building systems and infrastructure. This role manages preventive and corrective maintenance programs, vendors and contractors, ensuring compliance with building codes and safety regulations, and leads business continuity initiatives. This position manages maintenance staff and coordinates facility improvement projects to maintain a productive and safe work environment.



Responsibilities

  • Manages vendor contracts, service agreements, and ensures timely invoice processing.
  • Maintains accurate records of building systems, inspections, and repairs.
  • Manages maintenance staff and ensures adherence to safety protocols, including CAL/OSHA regulations
  • Coordinate construction, renovation, and space utilization projects, including budgeting and scheduling
  • Supervises physical and perimeter security systems (card access, alarms) and coordinate with IT/security teams.
  • Support emergency preparedness and business continuity plans.
  • Identify cost-saving opportunities and manage the facilities budget effectively.
  • Troubleshoot equipment and identify the required mechanical/electrical repairs.
  • Lead preventive and corrective maintenance for manufacturing equipment, building systems, including HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and fire safety.
  • Coordinate Business Continuity and Disaster Plans with other departments.
  • Promote energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives.
  • Oversee physical and perimeter security system alarm.
  • Manage off-site equipment storage.
  • Ensure Hazmat process, disposition on site in collaboration with EHS teams
  • Create, update performances indicators as required
  • Other projects and duties as assigned.

Supervisory Responsibilities

  • Provides leadership, communication, and coaching to employees while cultivating a high-performance culture of motivated employees, environment of trust, customer service, teamwork, accountability, self-confidence, and business ownership.
  • Conduct the Performance Management Process with direct reports for effectiveness, timeliness, and expected outcomes in focusing, aligning, and engaging employees in the pursuit of the overall business strategies and goals.
  • Support the acquisition and management of talent by
    o Interviewing, hiring, and training employees;
    o Planning, assigning, and directing work;
    o Appraising performance; and
    o Addressing employee complaints and resolving issues.
  • Promote adherence to the company's Code of Conduct and Policies (including safety protocols).


Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Mechanical/Manufacturing or technical discipline
  • 3 + years of managing and hands-on experience in a manufacturing environment are desirable.
  • Ability to travel as required to support business needs, up to 10%
  • Must be a US Citizen due to this position requires visibility to NO FORN projects
  • Knowledge of Building codes/property management practices and landlord requirements and related systems.
  • AutoCAD and area utilization experience
  • Knowledge of Construction practices and procedures
  • Maintenance and inventory control of card key type security systems and software.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs, particularly Excel and Outlook.
  • Knowledge of CAL/OSHA Health and Safety regulations.
  • Good communication skills at all levels of the organization.
  • Ability to lead and problem solve in unstructured environments
  • Must be able to walk, bend, stoop, balance, crawl and reach for extended periods of time
  • Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds unassisted and work on a ladder up to 20 feet
