About This Position
We are seeking an exceptional Business Development Director to lead revenue generation and strategic partnerships at the intersection of healthcare, finance, and technology. This role is ideal for a sophisticated deal architect who thrives in ambiguous, high-growth environments and can convert complex innovation concepts into actionable, revenue-producing partnerships.
Reporting to the VP, Strategic Healthcare Market Strategy & Innovation, you will build and scale Vitalic Health’s partnership ecosystem architecting creative deal structures, cultivating C-suite relationships, and driving at least $2M in Year 1 revenue across collaborative initiatives.
This is not a traditional sales role, it's an ecosystem-building role for someone who understands how to align incentives, structure multi-party agreements, and turn competitive dynamics into collaborative advantage.
Responsibilities
Revenue Generation & Strategic Partnerships
- Deliver minimum $2M in annual revenue through diversified partnership models.
- Develop and close high-value partnerships with payors, providers, technology companies, digital health innovators, financial institutions, and investment firms.
- Build and manage a robust pipeline of 50+ qualified enterprise prospects across sectors.
- Structure creative, non-traditional deals including revenue-sharing models, joint ventures, equity-based partnerships, and consortium arrangements.
- Drive C-suite engagement and secure multi-year agreements that balance financial returns with strategic alignment.
Partnership Architecture & Deal Structuring
- Craft complex deal structures that align diverse stakeholder incentives and maximize shared value.
- Develop financing frameworks for collaborative healthcare initiatives, including cost-share, risk-share, and innovation-fund models.
- Negotiate partnership terms that protect intellectual property while enabling open innovation and co-development.
- Design partnership mechanisms that scale—multi-party governance, shared success metrics, data-sharing guardrails, and equitable value exchange models.
Market Development & Ecosystem Expansion
- Leverage deep payor relationships to secure participation in alternative payment model pilots and transformation initiatives.
- Engage venture capital and private equity firms on co-investment, strategic advisory, and portfolio-level partnerships.
- Cultivate relationships with banks, fintech organizations, and institutional investors exploring healthcare market entry.
- Connect traditional healthcare players with technology innovators to accelerate next-generation enterprise solutions.
- Identify synergistic partnership opportunities that multiply value across the HFMA–Vitalic ecosystem.
Perform other duties as needed
Qualifications & Experience
- 10+ years progressive business development experience with a strong record of revenue generation.
- Proven ability to structure and close complex partnerships of $250K+, with examples of creative or non-standard deal frameworks.
- Demonstrated success with revenue-sharing, joint ventures, alliance models, and cross-industry collaborations.
- Deep, existing relationships with C-suite leaders at 10+ major payor organizations.
- Experience working with VC/PE investors, corporate innovation teams, and financial institutions.
- Established connections across healthcare-focused venture capital and private equity firms.
- Network access to innovation leaders at financial institutions and technology companies with healthcare ambitions.
- Thorough understanding of healthcare payment models, value-based care, and emerging healthcare innovation trends.
