About This Position
Courier

This part-time position requires flexible availability in the form of 7 days on, 7 days off. Shifts are 5:30 PM - 12:00 AM or end of shift (Shifts typically 5 to 7 hours). To include holidays and weekends.

GENERAL SUMMARY
-
The courier is responsible for the safe, timely and accurate delivery and pick up of mail, laboratory specimens, diagnostic reports, radiology films, supplies and other items as directed. Responsible for the general care and maintenance of vehicle. Reports to department leadership.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Complies with policies and procedures for the safe and appropriate handling of all items.

Maintains confidentiality of items being handled.

Provides professional and courteous service while carrying out duties.

Performs other duties as assigned.

LICENSES AND/OR CERTIFICATIONS
-
None

MINIMUM EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS
-
High school graduate or equivalent.
-
Previous courier experience preferred.
-
Demonstrated ability to work independently.

Must possess a valid DMV License with no vehicular convictions and have a general knowledge of the Hampton Roads Area.

Must meet the insurability policy requirements to drive a CHKD vehicle.
-
Must be able to pass the CHKD driving test within 30 days of employment.

WORKING CONDITIONS

May be exposed to excessive noise, dust and weather conditions while performing certain duties.
