About This Position
Purpose of the PositionA Production Technician at Kistler Instrument Corp performs all the assembly, testing, calibration, and/or inspection operations required to manufacture Kistler products. They work under guidance of the Production Supervisor and collaborates closely with production engineering. The Production Technician ensures that Kistler operates according to applicable regulations and standards (e.g. ISO9001, AS9100, ISO17025, ITAR, EAR).Main TasksMain Tasks vary depending on the needs of the assigned department. Kistler develops tailored training programs to ensure Production Technicians have the competencies required to complete specific tasks.Assemble and test products according to product documentation (assembly instructions, test procedures, engineering drawings, etc.)Perform assembly operations such as soldering, mechanical fastening, and/or adhesive bonding under a microscope using small tools (tweezers, soldering irons, etc.)Ensure product quality by performing visual inspections, functional tests, and/or calibrationsBasic operation of equipment necessary to assemble, test, and/or calibrate transducers (welders, bead blasters, shakers, oscilloscopes, etc.)Maintain a clean and safe workspacePerform tasks according to schedule / production routing timesRecommend improvements for production documentation, tooling, and equipmentPerform other duties as assignedWinning Mentality cannot be removed
Professional competencies according to job profileHigh School diploma, GED, or equivalent is requiredRequirements ProfileRequires general computer knowledgeMust be punctual, pro-active, reliable, trustworthy, and have a winning mentalityAbility to organize daily work activities according to supervisor instructionWork independently or in a team environmentStrong communication, interpersonal, and teamwork skillsSee through and work at a binocular microscope for extended periodsExperience with Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and/or SAP a plusExperience with basic operation of electrical test equipment such as oscilloscopes, voltmeters, or frequency generators a plusPhysical requirements: Ability to stand at a workstation 50% of the workday, ability to use a computer 70% of the workday and Ability to lift up to 25 lbs.
