Summary/Objective:

The Modular QC Manager is responsible for developing, implementing, and managing the Quality Management System (QMS) for the Modular Division. This role ensures all modules, assemblies, and components meet internal standards, customer specifications, UL/NRTL requirements, and state modular program regulations. The position also supports Manufacturing Engineering to improve flow, reduce rework, and ensure each project is designed and executed for manufacturability.

Essential Functions:

  • Develop and maintain ISO‑compliant quality manuals, procedures, and documentation for the Modular Division
  • Maintain state‑specific modular program requirements and ensure facility compliance for all states where modules are shipped
  • Manage UL/NRTL certification requirements and coordinate audits, inspections, and documentation
  • Establish and maintain quality procedures, inspection plans, and control plans for all modular projects
  • Ensure compliance with engineered drawings, specifications, and regulatory requirements
  • Oversee incoming, in‑process, and final inspections for all modular builds
  • Implement quality gates at key production stages to prevent downstream defects
  • Maintain traceability for critical components, materials, and assemblies
  • Verify and document compliance with project plans, specifications, and state modular requirements
  • Manage the NCR process, including documentation, disposition, corrective actions, and follow‑up
  • Lead root‑cause analysis and drive corrective/preventive actions
  • Report quality metrics to leadership
  • Maintain facility approvals for all applicable state modular programs
  • Coordinate with third‑party inspectors and state agencies
  • Ensure production documentation meets state audit requirements
  • Support DfMA reviews to ensure designs are optimized for production flow and quality
  • Collaborate with engineering and production to standardize processes and reduce variability
  • Improve shop efficiency by identifying bottlenecks, waste, and rework drivers
  • Assist in developing production plans, quality plans, and process documentation
  • Build, train, and lead the modular QC team
  • Develop training programs for inspectors and production personnel
  • Promote a culture of quality, accountability, and continuous improvement
  • Work closely with production, engineering, and project management to meet delivery schedules and quality standards
  • Address customer quality concerns and provide timely resolutions
  • Evaluate and qualify suppliers for modular components
  • Implement incoming inspection standards and supplier corrective actions
  • Conduct regular audits and inspections of production processes to verify compliance with quality standards
  • Collaborate with engineering and production teams to integrate quality standards from the design phase to final assembly
  • Oversee and perform regular inspections and tests on incoming materials, fabricated components, and assembled modules
  • Verify and document compliance with project plans and specifications, ensuring all materials received comply with the project plans
  • Manage a system for documenting and resolving nonconformances and preparing quality reports and metrics
  • Coordinate audits and inspections and analyze data to lead rootcause analysis for quality issues
  • Promote a culture of quality improvement and ensure compliance with regulatory standards and industry best practices
  • Handle customer complaints and provide solutions to quality issues, ensuring customer satisfaction
  • Maintain detailed records of quality control operations and develop continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality
  • Acting as manufacturing engineer by ensuring manufacturing processes are also efficient, cost effective and producing high quality products
  • Work closely with other departments to ensure delivery schedules and standards are at high efficiency

Supervisory Responsibility: Yes

Required:

  • Experience in modular manufacturing, industrial fabrication, or related quality leadership roles.
  • Strong problem‑solving skills with the ability to analyze data and drive corrective actions.
  • Excellent documentation, communication, and presentation skills.
  • Ability to work with minimal supervision and manage multiple priorities.
  • Must adhere to all company policies and procedures.
  • Must be available for assigned schedules and extended hours as needed.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Quality Assurance, or related field.
  • Experience with state modular programs, UL certification, or ISO‑aligned QMS.
  • Lean/Continuous Improvement experience (Green Belt or equivalent preferred).
  • Prior military experience is a plus

The work environment and physical demands required would be representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job, and may include, but are not limited to the following:

Work Environment:

  • Works in a professional office and shop environment and routinely uses standard office equipment.
  • Position will require occasional visits to construction sites.
  • May be exposed to varying temperatures; both inside and outside, including inclement weather, heat, humidity, cold, and dampness when visiting projects.
  • May be exposed to moderate/high noise levels when in work areas when visiting projects.
  • May be exposed to fumes or airborne particles including dust in work areas.

Physical Demands:

  • This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines.
  • Be able to sit for long periods of time while working on a computer.
  • This role may be standing/walking for long periods and may on occasion use small hand tools.
  • Frequently it is required to use hands and fingers, handle or feel objects, use tools or controls; and reach with hands and arms

  • May require infrequent travel (typically not overnight)
